TJ Walker argues Trump fired Pam Bondi not for refusing unethical tactics, but for not executing them aggressively enough. Walker points to Trump's frustration with her handling of Jeffrey Epstein files and her insufficiently hostile actions against his enemies.

Pam Bondi was not fired for refusing to play dirty. She was fired because she could not play dirty effectively enough. That's the brutal logic of the story. Reporting shows Trump wanted more aggressive action against his enemies, and it showed he was increasingly frustrated by Bondi's handling of Epstein files and attacking his enemies. She wasn't attacking enough. Put those two things together and the message is unmistakable. Ultimatize.
