Trump's midnight posting binge and midday naps According to alternate the Times and the ap, President Trump spent last Monday night firing off Truth Social post at an astonishing pace. Roughly 400 separate posts in a single hour and a lot more than that over a four hour period. He boasted claims that, quote, barack Obama will face a military tribunal and pushed conspiracies that Michelle Obama secretly controlled Biden's auto pen and signed his executive orders. At one point, Trump declared that all documents signed by the so called auto pen were null and void. He also promoted an AI video claiming Venezuela's Nicolas Madero had surrendered to him and amplified accusations that Canada was involved in election rigging. This late night frenzy came just hours before cameras captured Trump appearing to doze off repeatedly during a long Cabinet meeting. Which I can kind of understand that the second such moment in less than a month, though it started to be a regular thing. The White House insists he is in excellent health, but questions about his stamina and, frankly, sanity are growing louder. Aides have also been forced to defend a noticeably shorter later starting presidential workday. Okay, what's the real message here? When the president starts tweeting hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of times till midnight, insane things like Michelle Obama was controlling Biden's auto pen and running the White House, it's time to ring the alarm. It's time to get the men in white jackets and women in white jackets come in, put on the straight jacket and take him away. This cannot be ignored any longer. Republicans who said, hey Democrats, you're blind if you can't see Biden in this debate last year, look how awful he is. He's clearly not up to the job. Okay, you were right. But if you can't see someone who's doing hundreds and hundreds of tweets talking about bizarre conspiracy theories, hasn't lost it completely, then you're in a far larger problem, a far bigger bubble than any Biden supporter. Let's dig a little bit deeper here. So look, folks, I understand there can be different styles and I understand that certain norms of how Ronald Reagan carried himself or John F. Kennedy carried himself in the White House don't necessarily have to be applied today. And I understand the modern media world changes and I understand that social media is really important in a way that it wasn't before. But come on, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of posts in an evening on a Monday night when he can't even stay awake at a Cabinet meeting. Now look, there's a good chance I might fall asleep at Cabinet meetings from Time to time. But you know what I wouldn't be doing? I wouldn't then be staying up till midnight tweeting or truth socialing. It says so many perverse, bizarre things about this individual. You already get more attention than any human being on the entire planet. You really have to get more attention by retweeting a ridiculous cartoon? That's demagogic. You're someone who has the finest intelligence officers in the world reporting to you every day, giving you the best intelligence the world has to offer. And from that, you feel the need to peddle conspiracy theories that have no factual basis and to make accusations like, Barack Obama will face a military tribunal. It's just absolutely insane. And look, I understand political supporters can get into a mentality of this is war and anything that's against our team is bad. And anything that makes the other guy look bad, you've got to embrace that. And anyone who wants to say something bad about our team is bad. Yeah, there was some of that on the Democratic side last year. There's no doubt about it. There were many supporters of Biden who said nothing to see here at the debate. He looks perfectly normal to me. And they weren't even looking. I, for one, couldn't even watch the debate because I had seen Biden's decline going on for years. I always kind of felt like, I can't watch, he's going to fall over, so don't put me in that camp. But there is a difference. At some point, when confronted with evidence, enough Democrats, whether it was George Clooney, whether it was Nancy Pelosi, whether it was Bill Maher, finally said, okay, folks, the jig is up. Biden can't do this. He ain't all there, folks. He's not competent. So it was, yeah, Republicans deserve some credit for talking about the issue, but Democrats do deserve credit. They threw him out. They forced him to step down and not run again because they could see. It's plainly obvious to anyone with eyes and ears that Biden was past his expiration date. And I don't understand how any person who has the slightest pretense of being objective, honest, having eyes and ears work, could see what Trump did just last Monday night and not come to the conclusion that he has completely lost it and unfit to spend another second in the Oval Office. Now, let me tie this down into some things that we can all relate to, because we do live in a different world today where we're bombarded with so many messages and sending text out and reading text. Here's the Problem. Social media can fry your brain. Now, I don't. I don't know. I'm not a clinician. I don't know if that's what happened to Donald Trump. But there's a lot of research how spending your time on social media shortens your attention span. It degrades your ability to have critical thinking skills and to use them degrades your ability to even get a good night's sleep, which may be why he's falling asleep in Cabinet meetings. I just know myself, even answering questions. I don't have 10 billion subscribers to this channel, but I can start answering questions and responding to things. And after 50 minutes, I feel exhausted mentally, emotionally, physically. And I still have hundreds more messages to go. And you know what? I know spring chicken, but I'm not a few months shy of 80 years old, the way this president is. So my advice to you is figure out if you are going to be active on social media. Give yourself some strict limits. Give yourself some very specific time limits. Have other times where you know you're not going to be on social media and you're not checking your email every two seconds. Have actual downtime. I mean, that, to me, that is one of the most disturbing things about the first or second term about Trump is this idea, you know, tweets are coming out at 5am and 3am and 1am as if it's somehow a sign of virility that he gets no sleep. Well, getting no sleep is really the equivalent of being drunk all the time. Now, to be clear, there's no evidence that President Trump has ever been drunk. He's a lifelong teetotaler, in part because of his reaction to his own brother dying of alcoholism. And that seems to be one promise he's actually kept to himself. He doesn't drink, but I hate to tell you, if you're tweeting all night long and you're never getting more than a couple of hours of sleep, it's the same thing as being drunk. So my personal development tip for you is, yeah, I'm on social media. I'm not a hypocrite. I don't want to be a hypocrite, but figure out how to turn it off. Protect your evenings, not just right when you go to bed one or two hours before you go to bed. I turned my phone off at 7:30pm last night, as I try to every night. I'm not going to bed at 7:31, but I want time to read an actual book, reflect, relax with my family. So that's really my big takeaway to you. Figure out a way to get away from this phone. Believe it or not, whether you are a 17 year old student with literally zero followers, or the President of the United States where everyone's hanging on your every word, the world will survive without you sending out any particular tweet or message or truth in the next five minutes. We'll really survive, I promise you.
