Turn AI Into a Career Coach: Better Questions, Better Decisions, Better Growth

Ultimize. Most people do not have access to a career coach. It's expensive. It's time-consuming. But AI can act like one if you use it correctly. The key is asking the right questions. Let's look at some concrete examples. You're unsure about your career direction. You tell AI your background, your interest, and your goals. Then ask, what career path should I consider and why? now you get options. Then ask, what are the pros and cons of each path? now you get clarity. Another example: you feel stuck in your current situation. You ask AI, what skills should I develop to increase my income, to increase my prospects, perhaps even within my current company? now you get specific suggestions. Then ask, how can I start developing these skills this month. Now you have action steps. Another example: you're considering a job offer. You paste the job description and your current situation into AI, then ask, what factors should I consider before accepting this role? Now you get a structured way to think about the decision. You can even ask AI to challenge your thinking. For example, what risk am I overlooking in this decision? Now you're thinking more clearly. One of my favorite ways of using AI is I come up with some great idea, some new project, a new podcast, a new online course, and I ask AI to tell me what's wrong with this. Why is this a bad idea? Poke holes in this. It's extraordinarily helpful in sharpening my thinking. I think it will help you as well. Your exercise now is simple. Ask AI 3 career-related questions that matter to you right now. Then ask at least 1 follow-up question for each answer because better questions lead to better decisions.
