A short guidance video by TJ Walker on building real confidence for public speaking. The speaker emphasizes practicing the presentation (including recording on video) and testing it in front of others to gather evidence that the message lands; confidence is framed as evidence-based rather than magical.

How do you have more confidence as a communicator, as a public speaker? Well, you build confidence the same way you do in anything else in life. If you have a big biology test tomorrow, you build confidence by taking a practice test tonight and seeing for your own eyes that you know the answer to questions. If you're giving a big presentation tomorrow, the key is to practice on video until you can see someone, meaning you give a speech the way you like. Then you can also test in front of other people. Test it in advance. Ask them, do you understand what I'm saying? How am I coming across what messages stick? When you like the evidence they're giving you, then you can go into the real presentation with confidence. And it's not silly. Just wish on a magic frog type of confidence. It's actually real confidence based on facts. You have evidence.
