A short excerpt from a YouTube video (TJ Walker, Aug 11, 2024) where a speaker notes low event sign-ups and attributes it to public fear of AI. The speaker frames AI as a practical enhancement intended to help people, describes efforts to encourage readers to learn (through a book), and draws an analogy to early public confusion about the Internet (referencing a 1996 Good Morning America clip) to argue that current fears mirror past naiveté.

It's going to be so good. No, only two people have signed up because everyone else is so afraid of AI. Well, what is she going to tell us? Is she going to tell us that we all need to talk to robots? I know what that, what that mindset is. So for me, I am trying locally to get more people to read my book so that they'll then understand what the next step is. But if they don't understand, the foundation of AI is just here as an enhancement, just here to help us. So it's, it's the idea that it is not a trend. But if you go back and tj, I'm sure. Have you watched any of those early videos? There's one that goes around the Internet and I think it's Good Morning America where they're talking about what the Internet is and the www. And it's interesting as we sit here now when we would have been watching Good morning America in 1996, when they had that clip rolling and they're, they're like, I think it was Bryant Dumble talking to Katie Courage. Yes. And they're saying, well, what is this www? And why would I write that in? And did you know you can actually watch a video on it? We look today and we think, oh, my God, were we that naive? But yes, we were. And that's exactly where we are right now. That's exactly where we are.
