So what can we learn from the speaking style of Warren Buffett? For starters, let's ask ourselves, who is he? Well, he's a finance guy. He's a CEO of a huge conglomerate. Now, typically we think of CEOs as giving finance speeches. And what's the first thing people do when they're giving a so called financial presentation? They're boring. And they do a data dump. So anytime Warren Buffett speaks, he uses conversational language. He's not using all this going forward, Q4 and all this fight financial jargon. He uses simple everyday language. He doesn't talk about commodities. He talks about Coca Cola, Dairy Queen ice cream, Cherry Cola. He talks about very specific examples you can visualize. And he's not afraid to bring in personal experience to talk about emotion. People ask him if he's going to retire. He says, hey, I'm like the teenage girl waiting for the phone to ring. I can't wait to get up in the morning, go to work. I'm tap dancing my way to work. You can visualize everything, he says. You can feel the emotion. You can see it. And that's why Warren Buffett is not only one of the best investors in the entire world, he's one of the best communicators as well.
