TJ Walker argues that big, specific goals can be easier to achieve than small ones. He set a world record by appearing on more than 100 talk shows in 24 hours, which he found simpler to execute than gradual, incremental efforts.

Here's the thing about goals. Everyone says you got to have goals. You got to have smart goals. Goals, goals, goals. But if your goals are too small, I just want to have a job. I just want to get to work on time. Might not generate much happiness. What a lot of people have found, myself included. Having bigger goals sometimes are the same or even easier than small goals. I had a book that came out once. I had a goal of getting publicity. Yeah. Occasional interview here there. Had to think about it all the time. But then I said, I have a specific goal. I want to get on more than 100 talk shows in 24 hours to set the world's record for most talk show appearances ever. Big goal. But it was actually easier than doing a couple of interviews a week for six months. It all happened in one day. Took organization, took focus, but it happened. Please follow the TJ Walker habit.
