The excerpt is a lyrical ensemble from the musical "Dorothy the Musical" performed during THEatre ACCELERATOR Spring 2020. Three characters (Speaker A, B, and C) exchange verses that repeatedly affirm love without the need for spoken declarations. The lyrics employ natural metaphors—grass, sand, stars, and night light—to convey the constancy and universality of their feelings. The structure is highly repetitive, with each speaker echoing similar lines, emphasizing mutual belief, empowerment (“over me, you have that power”), and an endless, timeless devotion expressed through poetic imagery. The piece functions as a musical love anthem, using repetition and overlapping voices to reinforce the theme of unconditional, wordless love.

Chapters

You don't ever have to say I love you. Every blade of grass will swear it's true. Loving you means never having any doubt at all. You love me the way that I love you. You must believe in me, for I believe in you.
Over me, you have that power.
Every minute, every hour. I don't ever have to say I love you. You must know I feel it every day.
The stars above you all know I love you, for I can hear their music play.
Twinkling in the night, a million aisles of light.
Whispering forever, I love you.
You don't ever have to say you love me. Every grain of sand must know it's true. Loving you means never never having any doubt at all. You love me the way that I love you. For I believe in you. Yes, I believe in you. Over me you have that power. Every minute, every hour. I don't ever have to say I love you. I am sure you hear it every day.
The stars above you all know I love you, for I can hear their music play.
Twinkling in the night, a million isles of light, whispering forever, I love you.
You don't ever have to say I love you. You must know I hear it every day. The stars above you all know I love you, for I can hear their music playing. Twinkling in the night, a million rays of light whispering forever, I love you. The stars above you all know I love you, for I can hear it softly saying, twinkling in the night, a million miles apart, whispering forever, I love you. I love you.
