How do you get them to understand and embrace the world of commercial theater?
Well, it's a delicate conversation to have, and the one route to take is to say, you know, stay true to your intention, but is there a way that you can accommodate the needs, the commercial needs, the producer needs, and still stay true to your intention? But sometimes the conversation has to come down to, look, if you really can't compromise your your vision for what this needs to be, then there comes a point where you have to realize that and walk away. Either you walk away and let someone else take over your function in the project, or the project just isn't going to go anywhere, or at least not with that, with the way that is set up. And sometimes that happens, and sometimes that's the conversation to have, is these are your choices. You can either find a way to collaborate that makes you happy, or you can walk away. And I encourage people to walk away without bitterness and to just say sometimes it just doesn't work with the particular team you have put together. And that doesn't necessarily have to be the end of the world. It just means it's time to go on to another project or to find a different team.
