Hockadoo and welcome back to our Throwback Thursday video series. Today we go back in the vault 10 years ago and look at a video we made with my friend James Monroe Iglehart, who's currently in Hamilton and most importantly started his career as Bobby in our show Memphis the Musical. To help sell tickets, James worked with another one of his friends, Lin-Manuel Miranda, who allowed us to kidnap him. That's all I'm gonna say. Enjoy the video, and if you do, please subscribe to our channel.
My name is James Monroe Iglehart. This is Shockwave, say hello.
Hello.
And I am currently starring in Memphis, the brand new Broadway show. Now this video scenario about a Broadway show might look quite familiar. Actually, a couple of years ago, Lin-Manuel Miranda did something very similar. So I called up Lin and said, could I do it too? He said, truthfully, James, you know, I just I said, "That's cool. If I can't steal your moves, I'll just come up there and physically steal you." Speaking of stealing, don't let them steal your rock and roll. That's what our show's about. R&B, rock, and soul. Did the white man steal it after the black man made it? Or did the white man just make the whole world appreciate it? What's 44? That's the Shubert Theatre. That's where Memphis lives. I know that I'll be seeing you, 'cause if you ever want to see Lin-Manuel back, y'all better make sure Memphis is always packed. Got anything to say, Len? Go see Memphis! That's right, boy! I'm sorry you didn't win beat out. Shut up! Come see Memphis.
Thank you for watching, and if you enjoyed, please like the video and subscribe. Oh, and don't forget, next week we follow Derrick Baskin as he, well, he takes us into a whole different realm. If you want to see more, click one of these videos on the screen.
