Tom Gellie visits Nakoma Resort in Japan to show purpose-built mogul training waves created by enthusiast Ryuji. The resort has three progressive terrain features: gentle waves to learn technique, rounder moguls on a nice pitch, then steeper terrain for challenge. Gellie argues ski resorts worldwide should build similar training areas.

These purpose-built waves are for training mogul skiing. This one is in Nokoma Resort in Japan. This guy Ryuji loves moguls and built all these features to help people get better. After the waves, you can go get into some round, gentle moguls on a really nice pitch. These moguls give you time to think about and practice everything you've been working on. And like a great progression, you can go to something just a little bit steeper higher up on the run. I love this concept of having training areas for moguls so people can break it down. This is the way you're going to be able to develop your skiing so you can take on bigger bump runs like this one here. I think ski resorts around the world should build these features so people can get better at moguls and really enjoy more of the mountain. I had a great day skiing Nakoma Resort. There wasn't any powder, but I had such a fun time skiing the bumps and the groomers. Comment below what you think of these mogul training features and if you'd like to visit Nakoma Resort.
