Which brings me to the third action that leaders should do. It's all about focusing on building social connections. Humans are social creatures. Shocker. I know. And feeling connected is a fundamental need of ours. So you, as a leader, you should be facilitating opportunities for new members to connect and create meaningful relationships within the people in the community. The more aligned those people are around shared interests, the better. This could go through the welcome events. It could be interest based groups, it could be a buddy system. But encouraging these interactions in a relaxed social setting can help new members find their tribe within the larger community. Or what I like to say, the congregation within the congregation. The debt actually backs this up, because when people feel connected, they're more loyal, they're engaged, they're more productive, and the satisfaction rates go up.
