In this short coaching video, Tom Krieglstein shares an experience running a mastermind group of six business owners from vastly different sectors—boxing, restaurant, offshore services, online masterclass, and professional speaking. He observes that despite the varied industries, each business faced its own set of challenges. Krieglstein highlights a common misconception among entrepreneurs that other businesses have fewer problems (the “grass is greener” mindset). Drawing on conversations with thousands of owners, he emphasizes that every business inevitably encounters challenges, underscoring the importance of recognizing and addressing them rather than assuming they disappear by switching industries.

Chapters

I was running a mastermind for a group of business owners. There were six of us in the room. Each one was in a different industry. One owned a boxing company, another one owned a restaurant. Another one owned a offshore company. Another one owned an online masterclass. And I run professional speaking and trainings. So each one of us in a different sphere. What was amazing is that every single business had its challenges. And so often I. I know we always think that the grass is greener on the other side, that if I did that business, all of my challenges would be washed away. But I have to tell you, having talked with thousands of business owners, I have yet to see a business that didn't have its own challenges.
