Tom Krieglstein says speakers must guarantee they arrive on time for their slot, since clients have no backup plan. If your flight delays, drive overnight, rebook on another airline, or do whatever it takes to get there.
Speaking tip number 43 expect flight delays. Figure out a way to get there because your client booked you to be on stage and they probably don't have a backup plan. So at this stage, you have to be prepared to drive through the night, book another ticket on another airline, whatever you need to do to get on that stage when you are scheduled to be on that stage. Because again, they probably don't have a backup plan and that slot is for you. Make it happen no matter what.
