In this segment of Tom Krieglstein's video on budget-friendly team‑building ideas, Tom shares a personal story about his love of peanut butter, even creating a quirky "peanut butter and fruit sushi" dish. He uses this anecdote to illustrate how sharing a personal culinary passion can spark conversation and connection. He then presents Tip #3: a "favorites potluck" where each team member brings their signature dish to share, providing a low‑cost, edible way for colleagues to experience each other's passions, foster camaraderie, and strengthen team bonds.

Tip number three, I am kind of known for my. Okay, I am really known for my love of peanut butter. And I have all sorts of creative ways in which I can use that peanut butter. For example, I once made peanut butter and fruit sushi. Stay with me. I know it's very strange, but I would love to bring that to my team and let them try it out.
It tastes too good.
Experience something that I'm passionate about and it's edible and enjoy it. And I bet the same is true for you people. Your people probably have things that they're passionate about that they've created food wise that they could bring in. So here it is. Tip number three is to have a favorites potluck, meaning everyone brings in their favorite dish, their thing, their signature dish that they love, and then everyone gets to sample it within the office, the team, the community.
