A pastor argues that before pursuing large-scale evangelism, believers should focus on discipling one person intentionally. Many want patience to influence millions but lack it for one-on-one relationships. Start with one disciple and trust God to multiply the impact.
God has called it to reach. But God does not operate out of order. He does not operate out of order. So first we have to make sure, Lord, am I in your will? Am I discipling the people that are right in front of me? Lord, I want to disciple 100 people, but I'm not even discipling my kids. Lord, I want to disciple 3, 4, 500 people, but I can't even disciple one person in my local community. Why? Because I don't like life-on-life discipleship because I don't have patience for it. But somehow, some way, I'm going to have the patience for 2 million people, but I don't have the patience for one. Start with one. Do for one that you wish you could do for all. Influence one, just one, and the Lord our God will bring forth an increase. Let me pray for you.
