A son brings his dead father's will to a lawyer expecting quick cash for a boat. The lawyer explains probate takes one to two years before he sees any money. The son learns a will isn't a check you can cash right away.

Hey, all right, how you doing? You the lawyer? Yes, sir, I'm the lawyer. How are you? Just the man I want to see. Yeah, you see, what it is, my dad finally kicked the bucket. I mean, he, uh, he passed away yesterday. Oh, well, I'm very sorry to hear that. Yeah, well, whatever. But yeah, so what it is, uh, my daddy, he told me, when I die, son, I want you to take my will down to the lawyer. So I got it right here with me. And he said, "Yeah, son, you take that will down there. I wrote it myself, and you just show that lawyer everything I have, and he'll cut you a check for all of it." That's what he told you? Oh yeah, he said those very words. Unfortunately, sir, that's not how it works. I have to take that will to court, and it's going to be there for at least a year, maybe two. What the— Yes, sir. When you've got a will, if you want it to be legal, it's got to go to court. Daddy didn't say a word about this to me. See that new boat out there? How do you think I'm gonna pay for it? I can understand your frustration.
