I had freedom. I can go travel.
I had all this money, 7 figures net worth, and I didn't take it seriously. He walked away from the Navy at 15 years, just 5 left for a lifelong pension. He got the money, but in a few years, the money disappeared, and so did the marriage.
I wasn't taking my life seriously. I didn't have the responsibility to handle that level of freedom, and I made some poor decisions.
Um, went through a divorce. The freedom that we all long for did not save him. The freedom exposed him.
Freedom doesn't automatically make your life better because a higher level of freedom requires a higher level of responsibility.
15 years in the uniform, he would jump out of helicopters to rescue people. And when he was on his way down, he could not rescue himself.
I was still acting successful, but on the inside, I was, I was completely lost.
He's helped thousands of service members build wealth in real estate. Now he coaches ambitious men, and he says that most men are chasing a path that they did not choose for themselves.
Maybe they're on the top of the mountain, but they're on the wrong mountain. Certainty almost never shows up before action. It takes courage to create movement.
In our episode today, we talk about what freedom can cost you once you have it, how to tell whether you're climbing the wrong mountain, and why certainty never appears before you start moving. And if you're someone who's achieved the thing that you were chasing all this while and still feel nothing, this one will hit home. Let's dive in. You spent years chasing freedom, and then, Tim, you got freedom. What did you discover about freedom, Tim, that you think people, they learn it too late?
Man, uh, I laugh because, um, my definition of freedom has drastically morphed over the last, you know, 10 years, even more over the last year. Sure. You know, for a lot of people, freedom is just the idea. They think financial freedom, like they have enough passive income coming in from assets or business that they don't have to trade their time for. That covers their living expenses. So they are financially free. That's like sort of the first definition of freedom when I thought about it. Okay. Financial freedom. And then the next level is like, oh, time freedom. When you have financial freedom, if you don't have to go to work, exchange your time for dollars to like a 9 to 5 job or a W-2 job.
When you have that financial freedom, that means you have time.
