Get ready with me. While we talk about a belief that, as a sex therapist, really pisses me off, here's a message that somebody sent to me a few days ago. Society says that men always want sex, and it's my duty as a wife to provide for my husband. First of all, that's just not true. Men don't always want sex, and they're also not even always the partner in a male, female relationship who wants more sex. We actually polled our community and found that in 45% of male female relationships, the woman is the one who wants sex more. But we don't hear anyone saying it's the husband's duty to always provide sex to his wife whenever she wants it. Right. But more importantly, even if your partner does want sex all the time, that does not mean that it is your duty or your obligation to have sex with them whenever they want it. I don't know about you, but in my marriage, I signed up to be a partner, a teammate, and an equal, not a servant. This kind of thinking is outdated, it's sexist, and it's downright dangerous. So my professional opinion as a sex therapist is that society can go eat a big fat dick. Actually, society can go eat a vulva because that might actually make women want to have more sex.
