Vanessa Marin (creator and speaker) offers brief, practical advice on finding a therapist. She emphasizes trusting snap judgments and gut feelings—it's acceptable to rely on an immediate 'yes' or 'no' reaction to a therapist's photo, short video, or description. The goal is to find someone who feels welcoming and who you can picture talking openly with about your life.

My advice for people looking for a therapist is this is a time to just go with your snap judgments. You don't need to be fair. There doesn't need to be a reason why you think yes or no to someone. Like I really believe that your gut and your instinct will help you find the right therapist for you even if you're just looking at the picture. And I know that sounds shallow or superficial but if you're looking at this picture of a potential therapist and you just find yourself feeling like no, like I, I don't know why or maybe I even feel bad for having such a strong no but like if you're a no honor that it can be off the picture. It can be off their weird little 15 second video. It can be off the way that they describe the way that they work. Like it's okay. You just want to look for somebody who feels like welcoming to you that you could picture yourself talking about your life with.
