Is December 15, 2007. My friend wanted me to go to a house party with her because the guy that she had just started dating was going to be there. But I was tired and I just wanted to go home. But she kept begging me, and eventually I realized that the house in question was four blocks from my house. So I thought, okay, I'll go to the party, drop her off. As soon as she sees the guy she's dating, I'll just peace out and walk home. A few minutes after we entered the party, my girlfriend pointed out the cute DJ and said, see that guy over there? He thinks you're really cute.
So meanwhile, my friend who was dating the girl that Vanessa came to the party with, comes up to me and says, see that girl over there? She thinks you're cute.
He was obviously busy djing, so I decided to sneak behind the DJ booth and impress him by knowing all of the songs that he was playing. He ended up plugging his ipod into the speakers and playing a mix so we could go on the dance floor and make out for hours. And it was pretty much game over from that night forward. About a week later, we were hanging out and I told him, I'm so glad you told my friend that you thought I was cute.
And I said, what are you talking about? I didn't say that you said that about me.
And I said, I didn't say anything about you. And that was the moment that we realized both of our friends had lied to us. Neither one of us had pointed out the other one. We hadn't said each other was cute. Our friends had completely made the whole story up. So that's our Christmas meet cute.
