I do not think period sex needs to be a big deal at all. I think it's just a sign of shame, of body shaming. It does not have to be a big deal. Periods are the most natural thing that happens to a woman or a vulva owner's body. It's a sign of health. It's such a good thing. Like, there's nothing embarrassing or icky or weird about it. Like, the amount of menstrual fluid that gets released over an entire period is very small. I know it can feel like a lot, but when it's actually measured, it's not that big of a quantity. And there are benefits to it too. Like you get to have more sex because you're not blocking off an entire week that you're not going to. It can add more lubrication and it can decrease period symptoms like fewer cramps, fewer headaches, better mood. Like it's a win win.
