In honor of National Condom Month, here are four things you might not know about condoms. Welcome to Part seven of our series the Sex Ed you wish you got. Number one, they need to be stored properly. Condoms are much less effective if they are stored somewhere too hot or too cold, so leaving them in your car or in your wallet can actually cause them to wear down faster and become ineffective. Number two, they can expire. Every condom should have an expiration date on the wrapper, so always check that date and if it's expired, fire don't use that condom. Number three never use oil based lubes with latex condoms. Mineral oil, olive oil, coconut oil can actually break down the latex in condoms and they should not be used together. Number four never use two condoms at once. Doubling up on condoms can actually create more friction, making both condoms more likely to break. All right, let us know in the comments what you want to learn about next and let me know if any of these facts surprised you.
