Here's one totally free, totally doable relationship tip that could have a surprisingly big impact. And if you're new here, hi, my name is Vanessa Marin. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist, a New York Times bestselling author, and I've helped thousands of couples fall back in love again. So go ahead and hit that follow button if you're looking for more practical relationship advice. Okay, so here's the tip. Show interest in your partner's interest, especially if they are of zero, zero interest to you. So my husband, Xander, over here is a surfer. He loves surfing. He's absolutely obsessed with it, and I am not really so much of a fan. So recently, a huge storm swept through California, and Xander was going on and on and on about how big the waves were going to be. And he asked me to go to the beach to check them out with him. So between you and me, I don't really care that much about swell and currents and wave patterns, but I take the perspective that because it matters to him, it matters to me. So I said yes, and we went to the beach together. Together. And let me tell you, that man practically ran from the parking lot down to the beach. He was so excited to check out the waves, to explain what was going on to me, to show everything to me. And it just felt so sweet that he wanted to share that moment with me. Now, this is not me telling you that if your partner's a surfer, you have to take up surfing, or if they're a gamer, you have to become one yourself. It's healthy and normal to have separate interests in a relationship. All I'm saying is show some interest in your partner's interests. I promise you it'll be really meaningful to them.
