A 30-second hug and a six-second kiss.
You're too busy to connect with your partner. I'm Vanessa Marin. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in sex therapy.
I'm her husband Xander. I'm just a regular.
Guy and here are three tips for making the time for a healthy and happy relationship. Tip number one Use your phone. We've talked a lot about how phones can be damaging to intimacy, but you can also use your phone to your advantage. It takes just five seconds to type out a sweet or a flirty text to your partner. It can be something as simple as I'm thinking of you, but but it's such a great and quick way to establish a little bit of connection.
Tip number two Try to add as much physical touch as you can so hugs, kisses, even a playful smack on the butt. In fact, research has shown that a 30 second hug and a six second kiss are wildly effective at increasing your connection and that barely takes any time.
Tip number three Create a quick daily connection ritual that you can both look forward to. If you need some ideas, make sure to check out our Connection Challenge. Every day for 30 days, you'll get an email with a connection question and a connection activity all of designed to create more intimacy in your relationship in less than 10 minutes a day.
