Understanding that the fairy tale version of sex and relationships we all have in our heads is just that, a fairy tale. Just like TV and the movies lead us to believe that we'll have a meet cute with our one true love, overcome some mild adversity, and then live happily ever after. We're also fed an overly simplified version of what our sex life with said true love will be like. Hollywood sex always unfolds spontaneously and effortlessly, zero communication required. The chemistry is so intense you can practically feel it through the screen. Couples always orgasm in the same instant from three pumps of missionary position intercourse, and everyone seems wildly satisfied. When I ask people to describe their ideal sex life, the most common word I hear is natural. We crave that feeling of effortlessness we've witnessed on the screen countless times.
