You're good chips. Sounds like it. Does it feel like you're irritated with your partner all the time? I'm Vanessa. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in sex therapy. The chip eater over here is my husband, Xander. And here are five tips for what to do if you feel like you are always annoyed by your partner.
Tip number one, take a deep breath. I know it sounds cliche, but sometimes we just really need to step away. Take a deep breath. Focus on bringing our energy back into our body. I'm always surprised by what a big difference a single breath can make. Tip number two, put yourself on a timeout. Sometimes we just need to step away from our partner before we lash out at them unfairly. Excuse yourself. Go into a different room. Get outside if you can. But sometimes just take. Taking that moment away can be really beneficial. Tip number three, get curious about what's coming up for you. If you find that you're irritated with your partner all the time, it might be more about you than it is about them. So try to ask yourself, like, what's coming up for me right now? What do I need right now? How can I take care of myself right now? You might find that your tolerance for those annoying behaviors increases when you're taking better care of yourself. Shoot. I'm running out of time. Check out part two for the last two tips.
