There were times that I felt annoyed at Xander for even suggesting that we go to therapy. Even with my belief in therapy, even as a therapist myself, there was that little voice in the back of my head where I would hear Xander say, like, can we go to therapy to get help with this? And it would just sound like an insult to me. I think that just goes to show you how strong of a stigma there is against therapy. That even as a therapist, my gut reaction to can we go to therapy? Was like, this is an insult. This is a bad thing. It's like a sign that something's wrong with the relationship. I wanted to share that to encourage people that, like, look, I was in that same position, too, and I came around to the idea of it. And spoiler alert, I'm so fucking glad that we're doing it.
