Worried about security for your motorhome or campervan? Here are 3 things you can do to reduce your risk. Number 1: most thefts on campsites are from opportunists, so make sure you don't leave anything outside, especially overnight, which you're not prepared to lose. This will also help you accidentally driving off with your swimsuit still on your bike rack. The other thing you can do is get a long cable and a lock, which will help you secure kayaks or paddleboards to your van while they're drying. Number 2: use visible deterrent. The idea is to make your van look like harder work than the van down the road. Put CCTV stickers in the window, whether or not you've got them, steering wheel locks, and if you've got external garage doors or even for your hab door, get an external lock for that. And number 3, if you're going in the water or going swimming, you can get an external lock which will attach to the outside of your van, so you can put your van key in that lock and then you don't have to worry about losing it in the water. If you'd like more tips for keeping your van secure, both while you're touring and at home, there are 10 more in this blog post. I hope that helps.
