In this video, Fisherman99 (Fish) recounts his early-morning camp-out at a newly opened store, Sam Tabaq, to secure a pair of the 2015 Air Jordan 1 "Chicago" release. He describes waking up at 3:30 am, traveling to the store, finding only one other person in line, and witnessing a group of resellers arriving to buy the shoes for resale. He managed to purchase both a men's and a GS pair, paying about $140 CAD and immediately earning $90 over retail by selling a GS pair to a reseller. Fish then reviews the shoe’s history (original 1985 release, classic colorway) and notes the unusual black‑and‑gold box used for Canadian/European pairs, which lacked the typical tags. He advises viewers that the shoes are sold out everywhere, recommends checking eBay or Facebook groups for secondary market purchases, and stresses the importance of legit‑checking to avoid fakes. The video ends with a sign‑off.

What is up, YouTube? It's Fish from My99. And yesterday I capped out for the Chicago 1s. And as you can see, I was successful. I'm super, super happy. I mean, resell is insane for these. So basically just a quick cap out story. It was roughly 10 o'clock on a Friday night. And I found out that there was 20+ people at every single store in the city that was getting them. So at that point, I thought, okay, there's no point in even trying to get them. So I was planning on going around 2, 3 in the morning. And so I go to bed around 1, but right before I go to sleep, my friend hits me up saying, oh, we just passed by this new store that opened up, it was called Sam Tabaq. They were receiving these and they said that there was nobody in line there. So for me, I was like, okay, perfect. So it's 1 in the morning. I'm like, no, you know what? I'm going to sleep a bit. So I was, I was dead tired. I had exams that day. I really, really needed sleep. So I sleep for about 2 hours and a half, put my alarm on for 3:30, get up at 3:30 and I head down to Sapta Bak, this new store. It was roughly a 30-minute ride. And like, I thought that at this point the store would be full. So I don't even, I don't know what inside me told me that I should go, but I was like, you know what, screw it. I really, really want these. The thing is it was like a 25, 30-minute taxi ride. So it was like the meter was at least at $30. So I was like, shit, I really, really hope there's nobody there. Or at least there's enough people there that I'm able to secure myself a pair. So we turn the corner, my heart's pumping, and lo and behold, I'm super lucky. There's only one other person in line. So I got there about second in line. I got there around 4:15. So I hop in line, we start this— I start discussing sneakers with the other guy in line. And this was really the most eye-opening cap out for me because I would say roughly around 4:45 AM, there's a van that pulls up with 8 to 9 Asians. They all hop off and they're clearly They're like 78 years old. It was so obvious they were there to resell and they were going to send them over to China. So there were, they were sitting in line and there was like one head guy that came and he's like, okay, I'm going to send some of you to this location, some of you to that location. And it was just like, I couldn't believe it. So they said that they would pay me $90 over retail for a GS pair because I found out I was able to take both a men's and a GS pair. So I picked up the men's pair. I picked up the GS pair. I made $90 very quickly on the spot. I secured my pair, of course, second in line. And, uh, I essentially picked these up for $140 Canadian. So I can definitely say it was a good day for me because I camped out the shortest in the city and I secured a pair for, well, I guess you could say under retail. So just to hop into a review of these, these were originally released in 1985. Uh, this was the first Air Jordan to ever come out. Um, there's like so many like crazy famous pictures of Michael Jordan wearing these. And, uh, they just have that red bottom, white midsole, um, red, black, and white upper. Very classic. I'm sure you guys all know how they look like. There's millions of reviews up on YouTube. But everybody had the black and red Nike box that the Bred ones, the Royal ones came in. This is my box of the Breds. But for some reason, the Canadian pairs, and I think the European pairs also, came in this black and gold box they've been using for like the 2015 releases. And they don't have the tag or anything like the original Drones, which kind of pissed me off because my Royals and Breds have the black and red Nike box. So why would these, you know, and just for a guy who likes his boxes and all his extras with his shoes, I don't know, it sort of bothered me a bit. So that's just something to point out, but I just kind of wanted to share my story. I'm super, super excited, uh, to have these and I'll definitely be breaking them out soon. Um, for those of you who are gonna ask where you can get them, I'm gonna tell you straight up, they're sold out everywhere. Check eBay or Facebook forums. Those are your best bets. And, uh, make sure to be safe. Don't get scammed. Legit check them. There's already fakes out there. I've already seen Fakes, they're not that good yet, but just wait, they'll get really, really good, like the Royals and the Breds and all that. Um, but other than that, it's Fisherman99 signing out. Peace.
