Will Lasry visits an Indian textile factory where workers remove their shoes before entering production areas to prevent virus spread. The factory also installed rooftop solar panels to reduce air pollution and shift to renewable energy.
This is not like many other factories I've ever seen because, you know, if you kind of take a walk around the campus, I understand that you guys have made a big effort to make it very pretty. Everybody on the inside of the facilities takes their shoes off and it's incredibly clean. All of the yarns could be swept without a speck of dust.
Why was it important for you to do that? Every year during the winter, where everyone will be infected with fever, cold, you have a lot of viruses in the environment right now. Everyone puts the garments down, they'll take it without washing, they might eat. To avoid any such common flu, we were like told to remove the shoes and to come and be clean. Whatever we can do for them to be safe, we are doing it. Any production unit, any production unit, until now we are like spoiling the environment. We have like air pollution, and to reduce that, we have invested the solars.
You installed solar panels on the roof so that you can have renewable energy, right? Yeah, of course.
