Will Lasry tours Italy's most advanced print lab, showing a sublimation machine for high-volume fabric printing, a UV printer that handles natural fabrics up to three meters, and laser cutters with vision systems that detect cut lines on rip-stop fabric.
This is a large-scale sublimation machine.
In this special machine, we print the natural fabrics and we can reach up to 3 meters. This is an UV machine. It allows us to create some layers. It is not liquid inks, it's more material. And so it allows us to create these layers. It doesn't dry on the fabrics, so it's really rigid. And that's why we use it for belts, accessorizes.
And let's see, so this whole area over here is for laser cutting. This machine is cutting the panels out of the fabric. In this particular case, they're using a ripstop style fabric. You have a standard laser cutting machine. What's really cool about this is that there's actually a camera in here and it's able to detect where to cut based on what the paper looks like. And lastly, you have a really big version of this. What's really cool about this machine is it's actually on a conveyor belt, so this whole panel over here slides back and forth and this laser stays in place and cuts what it needs to. Really, really cool technology, and it's pretty amazing how We do things here.
