Two reviewers break down LA Apparel's heathered fleece hoodie, praising its soft interior and oversized fit but flagging quality control issues. After washing it weighs 378 g with minimal shrinkage, yet doesn't match advertised specs. At $35-$40 blank cost, screen-printing pushes the final price to $50-$60, a tough margin for new brands.
It's a heathered fleece hoodie. In terms of construction, very basic overlock seams. They put the COVID stitch for the hood.
This is a bit messy. So far is what I'll say, I like the fabric here more than the construction, to be completely honest. I think it's a very, very soft fabric, really nice hand feel on the inside. It's really, really soft, which is very sought after, uh, for a lot of people when they're building a blank. This is like a very streetwear fit in terms of pattern. It gives you that very oversized boxy look, so to speak.
Now we are going to see what the weight of these are after washing and drying. 378.
So it didn't shrink much in the wash, but it has a big variation from what they're advertising.
Poor quality control.
Yeah, that's not great.
Poor product tolerance. Next one.
35 to 40.
That's expensive. When you're using this as a blank, you're trying to build your brand off of this. You need enough money to do additional screen printing, embellishments, branding on top of this, it means your product cost is going to be $50, $60. And then now you have to retail this. It's going to be very difficult for a brand to start off at that price point.
