A white cotton twill is glued to denim, pressed in a vacuum machine to bond it, then a laser cutter removes parts of the twill to reveal a patterned finish underneath. It's how denim makers experiment with new surface effects.

So this is the peel-off process. I've never actually seen this done before. The way they pulled off this peel-off fabric for denim is they put this white cotton fabric, in this case a twill. The way they get this cotton twill to adhere to the denim is using glue, but to make sure it really seals in, they actually use this machine right here where they put it down, they close it, and this is a vacuum. It actually vacuums the cotton twill onto the denim with the adhesive applied so it really stays in place. And then in the lasering process, they removed some of the fabric and it gave a result like this. Now this is just a sample and it shows that they're always doing R&D here to test things out and to innovate on how denim can be made, the million different ways it can be made.
