Two presenters show how to sublimate prints onto specialty mugs using regular printer paper, heat-transfer tape, and a mug oven. The ink transfers in reverse, so the image appears mirrored on paper but correct on the finished cup once peeled away.
We're doing the mugs. They actually give you a 3D mockup.
Cup we're going to be printing is the Camper Enamel. Go ahead and break it open out the box. Come around this way. Make sure there's no manufacturer defects on it. Yes. So this is a sublimation paper that we print out of a regular printer. It's just a special type of paper. We go ahead and wrap the mug and then we put it in the mug oven and then it basically sublimates onto the mug from the heat.
So you'll notice how the print is actually back And the reason the print is backwards is because you're sublimating it in reverse. So when you actually apply it onto the mug and you peel it off, it comes out the right way. It works like a mirror.
I'll let Shanice show us how it's done. I'm gonna go ahead and wrap it as tight as I can so that we can get the best quality out of the print.
So this is essentially an oven that lets the sublimation transfer onto the mug. Gotcha.
