A short motivational monologue by Will Humphreys arguing that courage is not the absence of fear but the decision to act despite fear; he links fear and stress to caring about outcomes and says true courage is often driven by a greater fear of inaction than of making mistakes.

Courage isn't the absence of fear. Courage is having fear and moving forward anyway. Fear is oftentimes associated with a negative feeling, like it's not something we want to have because it's uncomfortable. But in the end, fear and stress are a result of caring about the outcome. So there's nothing in life that we want that isn't going to create fear or stress. Even though on social media everyone looks like they're living a fear free, carefree life, the truth of the matter is, the most courageous men and women I know aren't afraid of making mistakes, but they are afraid. They're actually more afraid of not taking action than they are of staying still, and that's what makes someone courageous.
