Focuses on understanding new-grad PT fears (skill/incompetence, student loan debt, burnout) and using personalized career-paths, mentorship, and leadership opportunities as competitive advantages versus large PT companies.

You know, when you're a small physical therapy practice owner, it can be hard to hire great physical therapists. I know firsthand my experience in starting my company that was easily the bane of my existence was learning how to attract and retain top talent, especially when I was in a rural setting in the middle of Arizona. I can tell you that there are things that you can do as a physical therapy practice owner that not only can compete with the large physical therapy companies in hiring, but but you can run circles around them. So let's jump right into this right away in helping you see the value of your company as it compares to larger physical therapy practices. Listen, the first thing we want to start with is the fears of the people we're hiring. So, for example, if you're looking to hire a new grad or someone just coming out of school, what are they afraid of? Well, every physical therapist that starts has the same fear. They're terrified that they're not going to have the right skill set, that they won't be able to help their patients heal. It's a bit of an imposter syndrome that we all go through. But the other two fears that most PT new grads have are unique to this generation. The first being that PT new grads are worried about student loan debt. Never before have they had to take on so much money in debt to become a physical therapist. And then the third thing that they're worried about is becoming a burnout statistic. So when we're interviewing our physical therapists, instead of being worried about the bigger companies, let's get really specific as to why this physical therapist would be lucky to come work for you. And you can use it in that interview process when you talk about your company like, hey, here at Will Physical Therapy, we are committed to creating a customized physical therapy experience for you so that you don't become a burnout statistic. We can mentor you. I can give you leadership opportunities, because my growth is dependent on who, not what. So if you're a who, who's ready to grow, this is the perfect place for you. And that's really the next thing I wanted to talk about. The number one reason why physical therapists leave the company they're at is because they don't see a career path for them. It's like they hit a ceiling of development and they don't see where they can go. So with our current team members, and especially when we're hiring new team members, we want to clarify that path of growth for them as much as possible. And again, that may not seem like you can compete, but here's the truth. Larger physical therapy companies, they're always hiring. It's almost this state of like, yeah, we can create whatever career path you want, but truly, they're trying to fill open positions almost constantly. In your case, because you're smaller, you can really highlight this from a place of being specific. So you can say, listen again, I want to grow with you. So whatever it is that you want to create, that's going to be how I'm going to create. Because we are about the who, not the what. When we do that, we start to create a sense, an experience from that physical therapist that you can create something that no one else can. I mean, if you think about it, who else can create such a personalized growth experience? No one. And if you're using that language, I promise you, you'll attract and convert those pts into full time employees. You never need to be afraid of those larger groups because you have something that they don't have. You have you. So, guys, thank you so much. If you have any comments, please add those below. Thank you so much for watching. Until next time.
