Short excerpt from a YouTube video by Will Humphreys in which the host asks attendees about the biggest challenges of being a virtual assistant. A respondent cites communication difficulties due to geographic separation (working in different provinces/cities) as a core challenge; the clip focuses on relationship and communication barriers within geographically dispersed VA teams.
What would you guys say are the biggest challenges of being a virtual assistant in. In your current roles?
I would say the communication with the virtual assistants. Like, if you don't have. Because some of them are working in the provinces, we're not in the same city, even though we're in the same country, right?
Yeah. A bunch of violence.
So the communication, that's one of the biggest challenges at the start, because we don't know each other personally. We haven't seen each other personally face to face. So building a relationship with the spill with this virtual assistance is very important so that they can be open to me and I can be open to that. So that is one of the biggest challenges if you're leading a team of virtual assistants, from my perspective. But once you encounter that barrier with communication, you get to know them personally, you share their passion, their vision, you know a little bit of the story of their family. They're more than willing to open up, and then you have, like, a synergized relationship within the team with the same goal, and then you embody that. That relationship through your bosses or through your owners, and then everybody's happy.
