Today we continue with episode six, the Stress and Burnout Cure Part two. If you happen to miss part one, you can click in the upper right hand corner and it will take you right, right to that video. In order to find peace at work, it is essential that we look at the foundation upon which we sit that is created every day through our routines. And so we already talked in the previous video about body, mind and heart. Today we're going to be focusing on alignment. We need to discuss what it looks like to be aligned. An aligned relationship is when you and the company both have a win win relationship. Whenever anything else gets in the way of that and one of the parties lose, you are no longer aligned. So to to start, we're going to ask some hard questions to determine if you are truly aligned with your company at its core. So the first question I need to ask is do you agree with the purpose, values and vision of the company? Those items are the foundation and if you do not agree with those, that is an important factor to look at. Question number two do you believe the company you work for is working to grow and become better? No company is perfect. The difference is if we can feel that they are constantly trying to improve. If the answer to those questions is no, then you are only left with three Learn to like it, choose to hate it and learn to live with it or make a change. Learning to like it could be as simple as finding out more about the company and understanding more around their purposes. Making a change could be resigning. It could also mean that you look to influence the company by going into leadership and being the change that you want to see in your company. If you answered yes to those difficult questions, then it's time to take a closer look. Oftentimes it's being overworked. And like we discussed in a previous video, the three major sources of being overworked is a lack of training, being undervalued, or having a lack of time. And so as you look at curing, being overworked, the first thing to consider is to define what does align for you and what you need. Most people simply don't know what they need in order to be in alignment. So get really clear if you need more training, better compensation, different types of praises or hours and be objective in this measurement. Look at the who, what, when, where of what would be an aligned relationship with the company. Then number two, have the courage to have the difficult conversation to create whatever outcome works for you and the company. Remember, you're creating a win win relationship. So when you get clear as to what works for you, you will be empowered to have the discussion. As long as you believe in yourself to actually have that discussion. If, however, you feel aligned with the purpose, vision and values of your company, and you don't feel that you're overworked, then your stress and burnout may be coming from three remaining causes of misalignment. Which management that would be relationship with your direct report, someone who either micromanages or doesn't support you. Your culture, which would be the team environment, whether people talk badly about each other behind their backs, whether or not you feel a part of that team and lastly, the industry. You may no longer be in a position where the thing you want to do fits within the box of your industry. And so with all three of these issues, the first step is to take a look inward. Is there something that I am doing or not doing that is adding to this problem? As you analyze that relationship, you'll see that you are in fact influencing all three of those concerns, even if the other person is the majority shareholder of the problem that you're experiencing. With that type of clarity, then it's important to define what it is that you want in the relationship, whether that's with your manager, your team culture, or the industry. Getting super clear on the who, what, when, where is going to empower you again to decide to have the difficult conversations with clarity. And remember, clarity is always power. Now, after you've had those discussions, if things do not change, you are left with the three choices again. To learn to like it, to choose to hate it and live with it, or make a change. And so, whatever you choose to do, remember that you are powerful, that you are only as great as you tolerate. And remember, more than anything, there is always hope. Guys, it has been an absolute privilege to be able to share this series with you. I leave you with a question that I'd like for you to answer in the comments below, which is how else do you manage stress and burnout?
