Hello and welcome to the profitable pt. As always, I'm Will Humphries here, helping you increase your income, profits and net worth. Today we're talking about why our A players leave our company. So what is an A player? An A player is someone who is high value alignment and high production. What this means is on the value alignment side is that they believe the company culture, they want your success. On the production side, these are people who get the thing they were trained to do very well. So. So a physical therapist is someone who can see a lot of patients effectively and has great reviews from their outcomes. So why do these people leave? Well, there are five main reasons and number one might just surprise you. Number five, they are overworked. A players can do a lot of volume, so we end up giving them more to do, which is a recipe for disaster if we're not compensating them differently or giving them any sort of additional benefit. And that's what leads to number four, feeling underappreciated. These people have high potential. They're meant to do something big in the world. If we don't recognize that and work with them on developing it, they don't feel like they're doing the best that they can and that's why they start looking elsewhere. These people gratefully have a high degree of dedication to their companies and you might even have a really good relationship with them, which is probably why they're with you. But at the end of the day, if we don't provide these things, they end up looking elsewhere. Number three, they're not a part of the purpose, vision or values of that company. If you're a company owner who doesn't have these defined, that's part of the problem. But it's a great opportunity to incorporate the opinion of our A players in developing and living them. They have so much to offer our A players. They want to contribute to the creation of a vision, a purpose and values of a company. Because when we do that, they start to believe in something bigger than themselves. And that is our biggest gift we can give our team as employers. Number two, the reason a lot of our A players leave is because we don't have a long term plan for them. We don't know what to do with them. We're scared to give up equity, we're worried about making partnerships. And so over time, if nothing really progresses in their world, they end up looking for other opportunities elsewhere. And I get it, that's a scary thing to think about. A lot of times we give away our equity or we undervalue our person in those partnerships. So if you'd like videos on how we can arrange a long term plan with our A players, please let me know in the comments below. But the number one reason our A players leave our company is because of C players. If you remember, in my previous video we talked about what a C player is. A C player is someone who's highly productive but low value alignment. What that means is they can see a lot of patients if they're physical therapists, but they don't really buy into the company culture and they never will. There's only one thing we can do with our C players and that's coach them up and out of our company. A players are so smart, they know who the C players are. We get confused as employers more often than the A players do on who those C players are. But the A players are the ones who have to feel the weight that they aren't carrying in the company. And I can promise you when we get rid of our C players, the A players respect us more. They definitely have an idea that we are leaders and that we're committed to something bigger than our own needs. Because those C players, when they leave, it will be amazing what comes out of the woodwork around what those people were doing in our companies. So guys, I hope you enjoyed this video and that you're able to keep your A players happy so that you can grow your company and achieve your ideal scene.
