I QUIT. This Is What My Malinois Actually Wants To Do.

Jacob Morgan works his 4-year-old Malinois Starkey through bite drills, explaining why controlled bite work matters for the breed and why an e-collar is essential for safety. He's stepped back from PSA sport to focus on his academy, but still trains dogs this way.

Hey, hey!
So it's Wednesday night, and recently, you know, I've been getting a little bit of pushback on YouTube saying like I'm not training any dogs anymore. And so I thought I'd take some time today, train my own dog, show you that I'm still a dog trainer. And yeah, on a Wednesday night, for those of you that don't know, which you probably don't, the Mutt Nut joins us here at the Yorkshire Canine Academy, and we usually work each other's dogs. It's like a It's like a scratch back scratching situation, you know what I mean? I scratch his, he scratches mine. You know, you scratch our backs, we'll scratch yours. Well, Jules, the funny thing about my back is, is that it's located on my cock. Anyway, um, so yeah, we've worked Danny a little bit now. He's got a bit of a poorly leg, so he's just gonna do half a session tonight. And yeah, typically we do a combination of like obedience and bite work, and this is where I come in with a bit of a caveat and talk about bite work as a concept. By all means, we're not going out teaching our dogs how to just fucking willy-nilly bite strangers. All right. And I don't do this for any other reason than give my dog a level of fulfillment. We have to remember this particular type of dog was bred for a particular type of role, and that typically includes sinking his teeth into something. Is it necessary to, you know, do like take it as far as doing bite work with our Malinois to make sure they're fulfilled? No, it's probably not necessary. But is it necessary to drink my own piss? No, it's not, but it's sterile and I like the taste. So, um, we'll put in another reference there too. In fact, if you know the reference that I just made there, drop it in the comments below. I digress. What you're about to see is nothing but just a little bit of fun for the dogs and a bit of an outlet. I don't recommend, you know, the— no, don't eat that. Sick. Out. Oh, he's dropped his toy in sick now, and now he doesn't know what to do. I also recommend you don't do that either. And if your dog maybe throws up because they've had too many Treatos, we'll probably clean it up, but we'll blame that one on the mutt nut anyway. We used to do a sport called PSA. We're actually retired now because we've got to concentrate on building this place. However, we still like to give the dogs a blowout every now and then and make sure, you know, they're having their needs met and we have some fun together. So the mutt nut's going to go and suit up. Typically what you do is some obedience and then some bite work. Since we're retired and not actually trained for a sport, we can just do the fun stuff, e.g. the bite work. So we're going to get straight into that now and showcase some of what Starkey's able to do. For reference, he's just turned 4 years old. We worked up to the level 2 and got our first leg of the level 2 in PSA. If anyone gives shit about that. Probably don't if you're on this channel. And yeah, the Mutt Nut's gonna suit up. He's been eating your dog sick, which is nice. You might recognize the Mutt Nut from another dog training YouTube channel, you dog training enthusiasts out there. We'll pop a link up to his channel, I guess, at some point. He actually often gets confused with the guy off Sons of Anarchy, Charlie Hunnam, I believe. And he actually told me in private once that was the look he was going for. And then, you know, some big surprise to him that someone asked if he, if he was going for that, and he's like, oh no, I've never seen it before. But I'm just gonna call him right up, fucking liar, right now on YouTube. Anyway, we're gonna have a bit of fun with, um, with Stark, let him have a good blowout. He actually hits like a fucking freight train. So, you know, we'll stick a mic on the mutt nut as well, and again, we'll throw some clips up here. But he's a very sociable dog. He's sociable with any man, woman, child, and another dog. He's an exceptionally nice boy. Perhaps I wouldn't embark on such a journey and let him, you know, maybe express that side of him if he wasn't as stable as he probably is. But again, that's probably for another video. So this isn't like a green light to start doing bite work with your Malinois and shit like that. If you don't know what you're doing, you'll create a very dangerous weapon in your dog. And I seriously recommend you don't do that because you're probably on this channel because you love your dog. And again, training them to bite things without the level of control you probably need for for the capacity that particular dog has is only gonna end up with you probably in trouble. And worst case scenario, you know, obviously your dog being PTSD because if they've bit someone they shouldn't, like the postman, you know. And again, very stable dog. So again, just an outlet for us both really. After this, I go to rugby training. Can we get my little shorts on and fucking have a little rumble and tumble with a bunch of, you know, you know, young men on a rugby field. That's my outlet. Okay. And that's just Sarge's version of this. If I don't have that outlet, I'm fucking being all silly in work, climbing on Kirky's back and all the rest of it. So— Ready? You ready? Don't go soft! That's what she said. You gotta finish it off.
Finish it.
Don't go soft. I won't do it. Oh, Albert, that's tough. You know what? You know what? Because you ran into me. You know, we've all got our things, right? Susie's is swingers clubs. You know, fucking, if she didn't go swingers club a couple of times a month, you know, God knows what she'd be doing. I digress. Well, um, yeah, we're just waiting for the mutt nut to stick his suit on, and we'll get— we'll give Starkey a spin. We'll do— we'll, we'll, we'll go off course a little bit today. We'll do a couple of scenarios, couple of bites and things like that. And, uh, yeah, we'll show you what he can do, huh? Just to prove I'm still a real dog trainer. All right, Smooch, you fancy getting a fucking suit on, huh? And a mic. And again, I don't do too much of this as a pet dog trainer, predominantly front because of, as I've said a million times on this channel— yeah, nice— obedience doesn't fix behavioral issues. However, like I said, just a little bit of fun for the— for Starkey and I. Front. Good. Now we're talking. He does have his e-collar on, just so I'm nice and clear and transparent. We recently had a lady reach out to me and said, hey, I don't want to work with you guys because of You're not transparent about using e-collars even though they're like in all of our fucking videos? Front. I don't think I could be more transparent. And again, if you're not down with the concept of having the right level of control that is required— heel, Papa— um, of a dog like Stark— and again, I've not even pressed the button yet, or maybe I've pressed it once— then again, this probably isn't the channel for you. And people probably say to me at this point, like, all right, why are you going to use an e-collar for just a bit of fun? Well, Is this fun? And practicing the level of control we have around very high-level draws, in this instance a decoy, that sharpens Stark's skill set so he's enabled to live like a really great life, you know. Essentially, if I can recall him from a decoy, which is his favorite thing in the world, and again, I might use a particular tool like an e-collar to get to that point, it makes recalling him from anything that he might encounter in day-to-day life like exceptionally easy. And so the other side of this, you know, is just not— it's not just bite work. There's a high element of control and obedience as well, um, that kind of— we can utilize that skill set and transfer that skill set from the sporting field or training ground in this instance over to, again, real-world application. You know, like holding a down stay around an agitating decoy is way harder than holding a down stay at a cafe as a cockapoo walks past, for example. And so, um, yeah, of course I like— I don't want to do bike bite work with the dog like this in the complete absence of control, because that's how you can end up creating a fucking monster. Um, there's gonna be a very— uh, what's the word I'm looking for? Not temperamental, a very high liability. You know, he's still not got a suit on. This is crazy. You got your camera as well. Down, Papa. Mike, behind Yankee. How the fuck is that behind? Yankee, down. Whoa, Mike, Papa. Good, down. Papa, nice. Whoa, Alpha. Good boy. We might be a little bit rusty since we are officially retired at this point. Me and Starkey just living that good life— combination of walks by the river, the sofa, Papa, and, um, of course, like, the occasional Wednesday night where he fucks up his mate the muttonup. But I'm not going to expect too much of him. Lads, wow, we had a good run. And again, the sport in which we competed in, like, complete and utter credit to everyone that competes in that sport, especially at a high level. You know, we just don't have the time that is probably required to work through the higher levels. We certainly don't want to go backwards and work down to the lower levels. And so, like, to respect my dog and the sport We're going to gracefully bow out because like I said, this place requires a lot of our time. Alpha. Nice. Tango. Oh, nice. Out. Wow. Out. Alpha. Yankee. Papa. Good. Yankee, papa, down. Papa, Yankee, down. Yankee, down. Yankee, down. Yankee, papa. Nice. Tango. Good boy, huh? Good boy. We'll get the tunnel out. He likes running through a tunnel. Might introduce that. Might introduce a jump as well. We'll put maybe the tunnel and jump side by side and do some discrimination, uh, with which one he has to jump over. He's never been much of a jumper, you know. He's not a real Malinois technically, even though we call him one because it's just easier to explain to the, you know, People, don't piss down. So yeah, and then we can use various items as retrieve items as well, such as this leash and maybe the muttless bottle. It's empty. He's a very hydrated man. Alpha. Good papa. Good man. And again, I do think to a degree a dog trainer's dog is kind of like their business card, you know. So I make sure, you know, or have until this point really made sure I paid my due diligence, due diligence to the craft. I don't want to be one of those social media dog trainers that talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, but can't train a fucking dog, you know. Papa, nah, Papa, good. Tunnel, Yankee, no, behind Yankee, down. Nice. Jump. Alpha. Here we go. Tunnel. Yankee. Good. Down. Nice. Now, whoa. Tunnel. Alpha. Nice. Jump. Yankee. Papa. It's not wrong, to be fair. Good. Can you go behind? Behind? No, you fucking idiot. Alpha, jump. Yankee, good boy. Down. Good. Papa, which is sit. Mike, which is stand. Down. Mike, Papa, Papa, jump. Alpha, nice. Tango, good boy. Whoa, good boy. You can come in, Schmooze. Down, out. You want me to join on your goatee, or you just want to change spots with that place bed?
This could come off or get damaged, I'm just warning you. Yeah, that's all right, you've got cash, it's all right.
Move these place beds out the way. Boy, good boy. Yeah, jump.
A bit of free shaping there, huh? A bit of shaping out.
Yeah, Alpha. Nice. We'll send him to G-U-A-R-D, Alpha. Good. Look, tunnel, guard. Nice. Start here. Look, jump, guard. All right, kind of cut a corner a bit there. I'm going to give him a commanded bite in a second. Watch him. So this is technically Stark's favorite part of the game where he actually gets to have a fucking rough and tumble, you know. And again, this is the outlet element, I guess. Stark, heel! Wrong one, you dummy. Stark, alpha! Good lad, jump. Good boy. You all right, mate?
Mike took a bit of heat.
I'm going to try and send him straight between the middle here. No, guard. Yeah, perfect. Oh, nice. I'm going to send him on a T-R-A-N. Yeah, so I'm going to put Stark in what we call a transport now, where he's going to chaperone the mutt nut and make sure he doesn't try any funny business. Transport! And now it's Starkey's job to keep her— and I'm keeping my voice down because, as you can tell, Starkey's very receptive to my voice. So if I say to Papa, if I tell him to sit, even at that distance, the mutt nut can carry on. Here, jump. I'm going to do the same again, but this time the mutt nut's going to do a runner, and then Starkey's going to keep the situation under control. Guard. Straight through the middle, we like that. And we're gonna do the same again, and then the mutt nut's going to take him for a little stroll and then decide he's had enough of this dog and, and, and do a runner basically, and Stark's got to apprehend him. Run, Sports!
Not quicker than me, are you, mate? Used to be a sprinter, me, you know. Hey, hey, hey, hey!
No, no! Now in a second I'm going to O-U-T, and he's going to stay with the mutt. Now after an O-U-T, he shouldn't come back to me, should just go to her. Guard position. Out! Yeah, perfect.
Oh boy.
You can give him a bite for that, but not now. Simon can then reward the dog with a bite. He deserves a very nice, clean—
Naughty fucking—
Out. And then—
Hey, hey!
Now I'm gonna recall him. Stark Alpha! Probably go through the tunnel on his way.
Oh, Paul in sales calls going all right anyway.
So this time we're going to send him— we're going to let him either pass through the tunnel or over the jump. Um, we're going to send him to a bite, but the very last second we're going to do what we call a call off. So we're going to call Stark off. He's not allowed to bite. Again, kind of what I was talking about earlier in terms of this is just an advanced recall really. So I'll return to him down there in just a second. I'll send him through the tunnel to a bite. As long as he's got enough room to make a decision after the tunnel, we should be okay. And at the very last minute, I'm going to change my mind and call him back.
All right, where do you want me, mate?
Uh, just, uh, yeah, that's— you're just there, it's fine. Papa, tunnel, watching. So he didn't go through the tunnel as I asked him, so we're going to try again. Tunnel, watch it. Hey, hey, Stark Alpha! Good boy, boy. Papa, good. And this time I'm actually going to let him bite. Tunnel, watch him. Hey, hey, good boy.
Oh boy, oh boy.
Oh, out. Nice. And we're going to send him on a transport, and then Sai's going to walk all the way back to me. Transport. Now he's getting tired now, so we'll just do a little bit more. Or he needs to work on his fitness, to be fair. Papa! And then I can search this guy, you know. But if he were to attack me, for example, theoretically My dog should look after me, you know? Theoretically, right? Theoretically, right?
What do you want me to do?
You can do, yeah. But don't fucking chin me.
Okay.
Yeah.
What way is he gonna hit?
In your bicep.
Hey! Hey! Hey!
No! He's a strong boy. Good boy. He's a little bit low on his bite, but that's okay. That's gonna real hurt. Stark Alpha.
Oh boy.
So we're gonna send him on a bite. This will probably be his last bite, and then the last exercise, we're gonna throw an item just in front of the decoy, and he's going to retrieve it and bring it back after just having a bite and Again, probably expecting another bite. Watching.
Hey, hey, hey! No, no, no, no! Hollywood! Good boy!
Good boy! Go on, get it. Good boy.
Oh boy.
And again, well, you know, very important we have a high level of control of this type of dog because we'll throw a picture up here of what, you know, he's done to Mutna's arm in the past, um, through a suit and I believe maybe even through a wrap. And again, very capable dogs, very capable animals. That's why the level Control is very, very important. We can't just fucking let these dogs do whatever the fuck they want because of those genetic inclinations to fuck something up. As you can tell, my dog, you know, really enjoying this. Um, they're gonna come out in places we least fucking want them if we don't channel it accordingly, right? Does it have to be— no. Can it be flirt pole and some tug? Absolutely. It just so happens that I've taken it to this level with this particular dog. No rush. Yeah, out. Down.
Good boy.
No, down. Good boy. I've taken it to this level with this particular dog, and therefore, you know, once he's had a taste for it, that's probably all that's going to satiate him from now. So we enjoy it too, and as you can tell, he enjoys it, and the Muttnut clearly enjoys it. That's actually semi-erect right now. You probably couldn't tell by the suit, but, um, Stark, here. You tired, aren't you, boy? Sit. We usually get like 2 hours of sleep out of Stark after one of these sessions, so that's good. You're going to keep an eye on this, okay, bud? Bring. That's not it. Here, Stark. Here, bring. You fucking moron. Here. You tired? Sit. Sit. Try that again. Okay, this. Ready? Let me do it a little bit closer. Bring. No, here. Start. Okay, looks like we've had some sort of like configuration error here. Sit. We'll try one more. Bring. Right, he's fucked. Good boy. Yeah, I guess, uh, yeah, just give him a bite. Fuck it. Oh, doesn't look like he fancies being a Labrador today, folks.
Oh boy. Oh, he's a good boy. Good start.
Good boy. So we'll wrap it up there. Yeah, you know, he's gonna be nice and tired now. You're a good boy. Is that nice? Yeah.
Oh, thanks for that, mate. Good boy. Yeah, nice.
Any good? Out.
Not wrapped there.
Sorry.
That should look pretty fucking tasty.
Good boy.
Good boy, mate. Good boy. Good boy. Yeah, not fun.
Yeah.
You fucked me off a bit.
Good boy, good boy, Mark. It's a good shot, and really he's on tenterhooks right now. You could say pineapple, you could say pistachio, you could say watermelon, you could say boo, you know, bang, you know, but just don't say watch him. Good boy, good boy, good boy, good boy, guys. A good boy.
Oh boy, is that good!
Come on then, Stark Alpha, jump! Good boy, Tango! Good boy, come on, that's it! Oh, he's tired now. He's definitely not as fit as he used to be, but I guess he doesn't do that much anymore. Huh?
Still bites his ass. Yeah, arguably harder. Yeah, inspect the damage.
Oh, good boy, Starkey. Yeah, so that's, um, I don't know, we probably weren't even that long, right? What, how long were we, do you think? About 20 minutes max. Max, he's gone in the tunnel. He's gonna sleep in the tunnel. You okay, bud? And again, this is viewer discretion advised, not for everyone. Let's have a look. Anything or no? Yeah, uh, because biceps— let's get a close-up on them. I don't know, that's funny.
Far fucking worse. There was one that literally—
yeah, we'll ping the photo up. I think we got it. Good boy, have a dinkies. Don't want to let him dink too much after this, otherwise we can run into bloat issues and things like that, which of course we don't want. So that's our Wednesday hobby. Um, everyone's got their hobbies, I guess. Ours is just like, you know, having our dog bite our friends. Like I said, we're very much in retirement now, so we're not as maybe clean as we used to be, but at the same time, something we like to do just to give the dogs a bit of an outlet. Hopefully, if you did like this sort of video and you want to see more of this, we can make it as fucking elaborate as you want, and we can do some more of this, even show you some of the work we're doing with Lenny, or if you just want to see some videos of us, you know, helping out reactive dogs, then just like let us know. You know, we're just— we're open to options, you know. We're like, um, I don't know, versatile. We're like non-binary in terms of like kind of what, what content we want to put out there, I guess, which is I think a fair way to describe it. I don't think anyone can argue with that. So yeah, whatever you want to see, we'll do more of. He's one and truly done, boy. Spackles. And again, just for, you know, once the suit's off, we're going to have the mutt nut just, you know, stroke the dog, just for a case in point. Yeah, you can go in.
Oh, Sparkles, hey, good while I'm out. What do you make?
Yeah, come on then, son. Oh, good boy. Oh yeah, nice. It's nice and crisp one tonight. Come on, sunshine, go bed. The weather's good, isn't it? I'm so excited for summer. I need to get some— I need to get some fucking pythons like the mutt nut. Maybe we're gonna have to call the vet because those swans are sick. Hey, anyone got a number for a plumber? Because I see a couple of pipes about to burst. Huh? Yeah, he does like it. He does like it. He likes it. Right, that's Wednesday's over. It's my turn to get into, um, some little shorts now. Shout out to our sponsors for this video, the YCA Coffee Bean. Um, they're actually a sponsor It's pretty nice coffee though. I don't even think it's available to purchase, to be honest. I think it's purely for novelty's sake at the training center. But you know, there it is if you were to give a fuck. Anyway, let me just take my keys. And, uh, yeah, so last week I picked up these keys which look like mine. They fucking— no, they don't, to be fair. Like, at a glance, if you were in a rush Obviously they're very difficult vehicles, so I'll leave that there. Anyway, yeah, I took my keys. Obviously I go to rugby training after, fucking, we have a spin with the dogs. Turns out I took the wrong set of keys. I drove half an hour away. I've got the mutt nuts keys in my vehicle. And the poor lad, well, poor Pablo, to be fair, gave him a lift up there and picked him up. I felt awful. I apologize several times. I think he's let it go though. Yeah, right. That's it for this episode of Biting with the Boys. Catch you in the next one. Bye, schmoops! I appreciate you spending time with us. If you want to join our free private community, click the link in the description, or you can listen to YouTube's very sophisticated algorithm. It thinks you'll love this video right here.
