So you got yourself a sausage dog aye?

Jacob Morgan explains why dachshunds become reactive around six months old: understimulation (not enough walks or play), overcoddling that leaves them unprepared for discomfort, and stressful early handling where puppies get passed around like accessories. All three leave dogs unable to cope, leading to excessive barking and biting.

So you got yourself a sausage dog and everything was perfect until about 6 months, and that's when he became reactive. And I'm about to tell you why. This is actually applicable to all dogs, but my God, does the engagement on sausage dog stuff hit different. Number 1, he's been raised in an understimulated environment. Not enough walks, not enough play, not enough opportunity to purposely use his nose. And this has led to young sausage picking up his own hobbies. And unfortunately, those hobbies are typically tied to their genetic tendencies. And in this guy's case, this means barking at Fucking everyone. Number 2, every time the going got tough, you coddled him. And this means he's never actually had to tolerate any discomfort. Carried over puddles and not going for walks when it's slightly damp outside and not receiving your undivided attention for more than 3 seconds. I appreciate how ironic this shot is right now. And while that might sound like the kindest thing to do, when a challenging situation rises later in life, he's not prepared to cope with it. And instead, he might just use his teeth to get out of the situation. And finally, because your sausage dog looks like, well, this, they were probably passed around as a puppy like some sort of accessory. Because after all, who doesn't love a bit of sausage? Oi oi. Chances are it was a little overwhelming for them, and because they were just a tiny wiener at that time, they couldn't do much about it. Fast forward 6 months and 2 giant bollocks later, our Soswani here has found a new gear and is seeking revenge, taking no prisoners. After all those times you let your pals at Bottomless Brunch fondle him. How would you like it? But don't worry, I'm not just here to make you feel guilty. I'm packing solutions too. So hit that follow button here and we'll get your sausage back on track.
