In this interview, Zac Safron talks with Jose Ramirez, Chief Tax Strategist at Advanced Tax Advisors, about how a brief, 30‑minute funding call secured $75,000 in capital for Jose’s new business. The conversation reveals that Zac first identified a hidden late‑payment entry on Jose’s credit report, which was dragging his score down from the 700s despite a long history of on‑time payments. After removing the derogatory mark, Jose’s credit improved, enabling him to qualify for an unsecured personal loan of $50,000 at an 11% interest rate and a $25,000 Truist business credit card with a 0% introductory APR. Zac managed the entire application process, handling paperwork and coordination, so Jose only needed to show up and sign. The discussion highlights the value of proactive credit monitoring, a streamlined capital‑stack strategy that avoids multiple high‑utilization cards, and the speed and simplicity of obtaining sizable funding when credit is optimized.

Hey, so really appreciate you joining me today. Um, I would love if you could just briefly introduce yourself, tell people who are watching this kind of who you are and what you do.
Yeah. So my name is Jose Ramirez and I'm the chief tax strategist at Advanced Tax Advisors. And, um, you know, I met Zach through friends in common and I learned about what he does and, um, I was able to get some funding for my business through him.
Yeah. So talk about what did you like about the process? I know we were working on late payment stuff and some credit repair stuff at the beginning, but what did you like about the whole thing that we kind of worked on?
Yeah, you know something? I didn't even know that I had a late payment on my credit report until you pointed it out. So I've always paid everything on time. My credit is great. But when I met you, you were like, dude, your credit should be like in the 800s. It was in the 700s, right? But it's like, have so much good payment history. This one thing that I didn't know about is hurting you. So you got that removed. And I don't know what my credit went up at that point, but once we got it, got it removed, um, we were able to apply for, uh, some business, uh, what was personal loans, right? A couple of personal loans.
Yeah. So we got a personal loan that was 50 at 11%, which I mean, with mortgages being like 7.5, I think an unsecured personal loan that they just give you money and they're like You can do whatever you want with it. That's, that's pretty great. And then it was a, yeah, $25K business card at Truist, 0% for— I believe that's, uh, at least 12-month card. So good little stack there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a good little stack. Yeah, yeah. No, but I remember you were telling me at the beginning, you were like, hey, like, how do you get to an $800K? Like, what do you need to do to get to an $800K? And it was definitely with the perspective of like I should be at an 800, like I'm doing the right thing. So, um, I thought it was a, I thought it wasn't, it wasn't real.
Like people talk about 800s. I didn't think, I didn't think it was real because I, I have a perfect payment history for 20, you know, 20 plus years and income is good. You know, my, my credit, my credit is good. So I've never had it at 800. It's always been in the 700s, but I didn't know that, you know, I didn't know I had that little thing on my credit because I don't, I don't check that stuff, you know.
Yeah. So yeah, it definitely helps to check and, you know, it gave us some good results. Obviously it's, it's really fun for me with clients like yourself when we're able to get a pretty large amount of capital on like one call with a short amount or a small amount of application. So we can kind of maximize like, cool, I'm not giving you like 15 credit cards. You got to deal with monthly payments that are all different. It's like, here's a good high limit credit card at 0% on the business side. It won't affect the utilization. Here's a really low interest, you know, unsecured personal loan. Again, won't affect utilization, like good capital stack. And we kind of just rocked with that, you know?
Yeah. And, um, I'll say this to your audience, you know, the process was like, you handled everything. Like you held my hand through everything. I didn't have to do anything but show up, right? And sign basically. So it was the process was great. I mean, you're, you're pretty great. You know, it was amazing. Amazing. You got an amazing thing going. The timing was perfect because, as you know, I started a new business and I used my money to fund the new business. So it was perfect timing right before the end of the year. So thank you, man. I appreciate the help.
