She's already wearing the makeup.
Okay, she's about to do her magic.
This is the before, so you get to, you get to Enjoy the journey, right? I know. This is the before, the before.
Huh?
No, no, I'm gonna record.
Oh, she's gonna do the whole thing. It's gonna be very exciting. Okay, very exciting. All right, very exciting. I'm hype. See that on my Okay, this is my Mrs. Johnson County, but you gotta see what it says, right? It says Super Hype Beauty Chick because I'm the hype beauty chick assistant for my sister. She's gorgeous and she's in the pageant today, so she's wearing my makeup and my mother's wearing my makeup.
I tell you, it's so exciting. A'Shellarien Addison Cosmetics.
Okay, first we're putting on Lotion.
Okay, first we're doing lotion. It's very important, I hear.
I hear.
Here we go, this is exciting.
All righty, you want to talk through it, Nana?
Okay, this is put on and rubbed up and around the eyes and the forehead, cuz you don't want the wrinkles coming down, so you take it up on the cheeks.
Not that I got wrinkles, y'all. I am almost 50 though. Look, she's 72 and fabulous.
Look at that.
I come from good Babies, baby. Okay, saw that? Rub up.
I wouldn't have known that.
I just be all over the face.
Same with the foundation. Okay, and now what's best for me, I take a little at a time and spread it. We'll just pat it. In different places because we don't need a lot. And you do the same, you rub it in. A little darker than I am.
Did you say I'm darker than you? I don't want to admit that.
We have an ongoing battle to see who is actually lighter. Apparently, apparently it's me. I'm not totally convinced. However, it is what it is. Now look how nicely that's going on.
A'Shellarien Addison Cosmetics, she has such smooth skin. A'Shellarien Addison.
All right, here we go, here we go.
We got us some foundation. Okay. Very nice. Look at that. Look how easily that went on.
You need to get you some A'Shellarien Addison cosmetics.
You got to say it like that when you put it on.
You be in your mirror talking about A'Shellarien Addison cosmetics.
Have to sing with it. Sing with it, rock with it.
We gonna rock with it, baby.
Okay, nice and smooth, nice and smooth.
Nice. Okay, I know y'all thinking just a little. Look at that, very natural, very natural.
Thank you, Ro. I look like this lady right here. Okay, look at that. It's very natural, right? Say yes.
It's very natural, not too, not too thick. Y'all know I don't normally wear makeup, but it looks natural, right? Don't look caked on.
I don't look like Tammy Faye Baker.
Yeah, it's one of my fears. We don't want to look like Tammy Faye, right? We don't.
That's not what we want.
But I like it.
It's like all over, you know.
It's pretty cool.
So now we're gonna move to— I don't know, maybe like some Mascara, maybe. This is the foundation, see?
A'Shellarien Addison Cosmetics.
Okay, here comes the makeup guru. Okay, okay, makeup guru.
Okay, now it's eyeshadow.
Now it's eyeshadow.
That's—
we weren't anything very light.
No, I'm not gonna put it on heavy.
No flashy stuff for the chaplain.
But it's pretty colors though. Look at that, pretty nice. All right, okay, look at that, pretty colors. It's gorgeous. Okay, here we go.
Okay, we're going to put the darkest at the bottom. What we want to do is try to go dark, then lighter and lighter at the top. Makes your eyes look big, makes you pop.
Yeah, nice. We popping.
Let me just tell you, this is probably her dream come true because this child of hers does not wear makeup.
No, not at all. I'm surprised she asked me to even do this for her.
Wow.
Okay, here we go. Everybody's like, how did you get this child to wear makeup? Well, you got your own cosmetic line, you gotta do it. You gotta put it on. So this is good, it's good stretching me.
Yeah, we'll see how far you go.
We'll see how it goes.
Okay, so compared to all the makeup you've ever used, is this good?
It's good. I really love the lotion. I love the foundation. Um, what it is you have to do is look for something that's smooth, something that's going to improve your complexion and not give you pimples or make you break out. And so far so good.
Nice.
And you don't want it all caked on. You don't want it caked on.
No, you don't want a whole lot of stuff there. Let's see, you don't have a lot of colors. Just a little bit. Pretty colors.
Very nice. And my sister's going to be extra surprised. She's always telling me to put on makeup, and she says, please at least put on some lippy gloss. Some lippy gloss. And so that is the extent of my makeup journey. Lippy.
I'm glad you said that. I was looking, wondering where my lip gloss— I have it in my pocket. Okay, I gotta take it with me in case I gotta make a touch-up.
Nice, nice, nice.
Okay, this is gonna match the letters on your shirt.
Nice.
I'm getting gorgeous. We should take some and tell the beauty pageant lady. I could sponsor some of her shows, right?
Yeah, using the best colors I can. You can always buy more with different colors and mix them, but the object is to make your eyes look bigger.
Make your eyes look bigger. Do my eyes look bigger?
They might look bigger.
Because you got tiny eyes.
I have tiny eyes.
That's why I have a nickname. Okay, exclusive. My nickname is Nipponese. My grandfather was in the Army and he served in Hawaii, and there were Nipponese people in Hawaii. So when I was born, he was like, she looks like the Nipponese.
So that's my nickname.
That's me.
Yeah, that's me.
Okay, okay.
So now it's a mascara time.
Okay, A'Shellarien Addison Cosmetics.
Okay.
Oh, we got to be open for this.
Yeah, just comb just a little bit. So you want to get it from the top first, cuz you know you're going to always go up, but you're not supposed to blink.
Oh, my bad. You not supposed to blink. I'm sorry.
So if you say don't, that's what you going to do, right?
How you not supposed to blink?
Well, I guess if you do it yourself, you know how to hold it. When somebody else is doing it, you nervous. That's why you blinking, you nervous. Okay.
I'm wear this makeup for the next 3 days.
I'll be all right. You going to put it on yourself? Oh yeah, right. Who? Close it.
Okay, going to make your eyes pop.
Okay, going deep.
Open your eyes, Bob. It's popping.
Gonna be shocked.
Okay.
Oh, you can see a difference. One eye's popping.
Oh no, he's not. So how long does it take you to put on your makeup every day?
Well, because I've been doing it so long, it doesn't take long, because like I have a routine. But in the beginning it takes a while because it's new and you don't know what looks good, what you're doing. But once you decide what you like Mm-hmm. It doesn't take long.
Now, how long you been wearing makeup?
I started wearing makeup at 24.
Really?
Mm-hmm.
Wait, wasn't I born when you turned 24?
Bonnie was born when I was 24. Oh, so yeah, you here.
I was here.
Yeah. And you used to go to that lady, um, yeah, I went to a professional, Rusty. Rusty in Jersey City.
I remember, you get the dust, the gold dust from her.
Yeah, Rusty. And she showed me what to do. She's professional. She's the one that told me that in order to make your eyes pop— well, she didn't say pop at that time. She was, of course, older than me. But she said the object is to make your eyes look bigger as opposed to closed up.
Do they look bigger? They look bigger.
Okay, so this, this a special kind of mascara or they're all pretty much the same?
Well, it greatly depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for something that has a brush to separate your lashes, then that's the kind of mascara brush you need. Some of them just put liquid on it, have the liquid and the brush to separate them. And you'd like to have a brush where it's waterproof so that when your eyes tear, it's not running down your face. Down your face.
Yeah, I'm popping, y'all.
Not a lot, just enough to look natural.
Just enough to look natural.
I don't want to look made up unless you're going to be in a pageant. They make you—
my sister's in a pageant, so she'll be dooed up today. She'll be all dooted up today. I'm just a super hype beauty chick, so I don't have to be.
Oh yeah, this is next. Okay, now I don't know if you like pencil or if you just like— yeah, you don't want all that. You don't want that like what I have.
She's got pencil.
Mhm.
Lip liner.
I don't need lip liner.
No, all you need is just some Nice.
Little lippy gloss, a little lippy gloss. Okay, look at me, I'm all did it up with A'Shellarien Addison Cosmetics. A'Shellarien Addison Cosmetics, thank you makeup guru.
You are so welcome. It's my pleasure.
