Aaron Jaxon Band Capone's 12- 30- 16 pt1

The video captures a live performance by Aaron Jaxon and his band at Capone's in late December 2016. Aaron opens with humorous audience banter, jokes about the lights, Christmas, and New Year’s resolutions, then promotes his recent record Light on the Inside and encourages merch sales. He introduces each band member—Brett McCluskey (keys), David Strange (drums), Henry Hall (bass), and Logan Pollerup (guitar/vocals)—highlighting their hometowns, teaching ties, and past contest wins. The setlist includes original songs such as “Hours,” “Midnight Rhythm,” “Dreamers,” and a nostalgic piece from the Twain Band, interspersed with cover adaptations: a Twenty One Pilots rendition of “Brides” and a playful version of Redbone’s “Come and Get Your Love.” Throughout, Aaron shares stage jokes (oversized hat, South‑Park‑style song rewrites) and interacts with the crowd, encouraging dancing and cheering. The overall tone is light‑hearted, conversational, and promotional, giving viewers a snapshot of the band’s personality, repertoire, and live‑show dynamics.

Well, thank you so much, guys. It is so wonderful that all of you came out. I was going to say it's so great to see all your smiling faces, but I really can't see any of you. All I see is like a big— there we go. Oh yeah, they do have pretty smiling faces. And everybody's like, turn the damn lights off now, we are being blinded. Good to see everybody. How was everybody's Christmas? Yeah, I guess that's kind of, that's kind of hard to do with a crowd response. If you're in a crowd this size, There's somebody here that inevitably had a bad Christmas, and so when everybody's like, "Yeah, Christmas was great!" There's like 2 or 3 people that are like, "Hey, there's a reason there's a guy rocking some designer kicks." My Christmas was really good. I ate a lot. I gained a lot of weight. And yeah, so, yeah, New Year's resolution: quit eating so damn much. Here I come. All right, guys, we're gonna keep going right along here. By the way, there is some free space up here on the dance floor. I know nobody— it's like at the 6th grade dance, nobody wants to be the first one out on the floor, but somebody just crack the ice and then we'll all have a much better time, I promise. Anyway, we'll do the original song here. This is off of a record we did last year called Light on the Inside, which we have for sale over here. Come and get you one to free up some space in my closet. Anyway, we'll get to it. This is called Hours.
So I looked in your mouth and whispered to the eyes, now goodbye too. Oh, the edge is so tired of being awake, rolling like no one's spoken ever, living in your eyes too. Take the bottom too. The sun is telling me the name is not Thank you.
Thank you. Didn't know Van Morrison's on.
Every time she smiles, when I come to her, it's where I belong. Just running to her like a river song. It's the love of love of crazy love. It's the love of love of crazy love. She got a fine sense of humor when I'm feeling low down. When I come to her when the sun goes down, take away my trouble. She takes away my grief, takes away my heartache. You're not like a thief, you're the love, love, love, love, crazy love. Is the love, love, love, love. Grace is love. Is the love, love, love, love. Grace is love. Is the love, love, love, love.
Grace is love.
Yes, I need her in the daytime. Yes, I need her in the night. Yes, I want to throw my arms around her, kiss and hug her, kiss and hug her tight. And we're now returning from so far away. She gives me some sweet loving, brightens up my day. Yeah, she makes me righteous, oh, she makes me whole. Yeah, she makes me mellow right down to my soul. It's the love, love, love, love. Praise the love, it's the love, love, love. Crazy love is the love, love, love, love. Crazy love is the love, love, love, love. Crazy love. Thank you guys, appreciate it.
They're like, we'll crack the ice, we don't care, we'll get up there and do it. Well guys, thank y'all again for coming out. It's great to see everybody tonight. We're going to keep these rolling right along here with an original song This is one I've had for a long time. I wrote this song way back in the day when I was in a band, a little band called the Twain Band. There's a lot of gigs I don't remember.
It's one called Midnight Rhythm.
Hope y'all dig this.
All right, thank y'all very much.
I like doing like South Park versions of my own songs after I get done playing them, cuz that's what it sounds like in my head when I found them. All right, we're going to keep things going. We, uh, a while back, I don't know why I got the idea to do this, but, uh, we worked up a Twenty One Pilots song. I like Twenty One Pilots a lot, but we kind of did this one. We put our own take on it here, so this is a lot of fun. Had a lot of fun working this up, and we'll try it for you here tonight. I think this is our first, first time we played this out in public, so probably a little limited here. So yeah, this is our version of Brides by Twenty One Pilots.
All my enemies would wish I was. It's fun to fantasize. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm rolling, so I'm taking my time on my ride. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm rolling, so I'm taking my time on my ride. Thank you. Y'all like that? Cool.
Thank you very much. Uh, I was all about this hat when I ordered it online, and I still like it, but I realized it's way too big for my head, and I feel like I'm walking around like a plastic bag. So if y'all don't care, I'm going to remove this just for a sec. I don't want to look really spooky. If I can open this like this— thank God you did not run that past me.
You calm down, boy.
You calm down. So we're going to keep things rolling right along here. This is another original song off of the record we put out last year. Got it for sale over here on the pretty little nicely lit merch table. It's called Dreamers. Hope you enjoy this.
That their eyes are closed. Thank you.
All right, good to see y'all up and moving. Good to see y'all up and moving. I know. All right, guys, real quick, let me introduce these, uh, amazing musicians over here that are, uh, that are on stage with me tonight. Guys, over here on the keyboards, originally from San Bernardino, California, now makes his home in good old Jonesboro, Tennessee. Now makes his home in Jonesboro, All right, great musician, amazing drummer, keyboard player. I think he plays a lot of others. We're so glad to have him with the Aaron Jaxon Band tonight. Y'all give it up for Mr. Brett McCluskey on the keys. Back on the drums, one of the finest drummers I've ever played with in a long time, man. This guy's awesome. Actually, I taught with him for years over at Music Alley back when I had Joseph Kenny is one of my students back there keeping me on my toes. We got some, we got some rock stars in the crowd now, man. We got some, got all kinds of good musicians in the crowd, man. That's awesome. Anyway, y'all, give it up on the drums, y'all. This is David Strange on the drums. Back here on the bass doing a fine, fantastic job, and one of the reasons it is so good I'm just going to say this is because he had a great teacher, and I'm not going to say any names, but his initials were Aaron Jaxon. But anyway, now he does a great job. Love getting to play music with this guy. Y'all give it up for Henry Hall on the bass. Over here to my right, another one of my kind of former students. I don't know, he never practiced.
I'm joking.
He did a really good job. This guy has won a lot of singing contests. He won the— what was it? The Kingsport Idol? Kingsport Idol? Johnson City Idol? Tri-Cities Idol? I'm Amazing Idol? Get you a dose of my talent. Anyway, y'all, great singer, great guitar player. Love having him in the band. Y'all give it up for Logan Pollerup on the guitar. He's gonna sing one of them for y'all. I think we worked this up a couple years ago, and I think it was in— Lucas was telling me it was in Guardians of the Galaxy. Galaxy or something like that. I don't know, it's a lot of fun to play. This is Come and Get Your Love. Hope y'all dig this.
Nothing to matter. Come on, come and get your love. Come and get your love. Come and get your love. Come and get your love. What's the matter with your feeling? Don't you feel right? Feeling? Oh yeah, you hear it from the main guy. All right, I said right, right. God loves you back. Yeah, yeah. Come and get your love. Come and get your love. Come and get your love. Come and get your That's Logan Paul, I got to believe. Logan! Oh my gosh, Logan!
I'm totally used to that.
