Aaron Jaxon Band Capone's 12-30-16 pt2

The transcript captures a live New Year's Eve 2016 show by the Aaron Jaxon Band, featuring a mix of cover songs (Johnny Cash’s “God’s Gonna Get You Down,” Kings of Leon, Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”) and original material (“I’ll Be Gone for a While,” “Sad Thank You All,” “Fool in the Rain”). Throughout the set, front‑man Aaron Jaxon engages in spontaneous banter with bandmates (Speaker A, Speaker B) and the audience, leading sing‑along sections, prompting crowd participation, and delivering a promotional call‑to‑action to text “JAXON” to 38470 for a chance to win $25 and to visit the merchandise table. The performance is interspersed with spiritual and reflective remarks, humorous self‑deprecation, and moments of audience encouragement (e.g., “Sing it out!”, “Give it up!”). The overall tone is informal, energetic, and community‑focused, aiming to entertain, foster a shared experience, and drive merchandise sales while showcasing the band’s musical range and camaraderie.

your eyes into my bold, outlandish soul. You show my heavy heart what my head cannot realize. When the night dies on the inside and the night shows on the day, the sun will break out on the green Thank y'all.
All right, cool.
Since I started this band, I've always said no rock and roll set is complete without a Johnny Cash song.
So I'm going to try this for you tonight.
It's called God's Going to Get You Down.
I've been down on bended knee talking to the man from Galilee. He spoke to me in a voice so sweet, I thought I heard the shuffling of angel's feet. He spoke my name and my heart stood still when he said, boy, go do my will. Go tell that bald-tongued liar, go tell that beer-nabber rider, tell the gambler, the gambler, the backslider, tell them that God's won. Tell them, tell them, tell them that God's won. You can't run on for a long time, run on for a long time, run on for a long time. Sooner or later, that'll cut you down. Sooner or later, that'll cut you down. Sooner or later, that'll cut you down.
Thank you.
I like Johnny Cash recorded that like when he was really old. I like to think that that's what it would have sounded like if he'd recorded that when he was young and still on drugs. So a great way to remember like a dead troubadour. We did a song, man, like you could tell like it was like when you were on pills and stuff, man. So, so great. It's another original song here. Some of y'all know this, uh, some of you don't, but real quick I'm going to teach it to you, just the chorus part. You only got to know one line, and then towards the end of the song I'm going to make y'all sing it. So it goes like this. You really only have to know this one line. It's really all you got to know. It's just, I'll be gone 'For a While.' All right, that's all you got to know.
Goes like this: I'll be gone for a while, I'll be gone for a while.
And then you have this one: Remove the light from your window, baby. Y'all can sing that if you want to, you can mumble through it if you want. And then after that, and I'll be gone for a while, so it goes right back to it after that.
All right, y'all try it with me. I'll be gone for a while, I'll be gone for while. Remove the light from your window, baby, 'cause I'll be gone for a while.
One more time.
I'll be gone for a while. I'll be gone for a while. Move the light from your window, baby, I'll be gone for a while.
All right, last chorus. I love y'all.
shadow when you put your mouth on my neck. Sometimes you're deep, sometimes you're shallow, but I'll be there when I have to. Roads are crowded at midnight, they take me straight to the sky. I'll find my way inside my brother's head and I'll be gone for a while.
Sing it out!
I'll be gone for a while. I'll be gone for a while.
The night will be with me, and I'll be gone for a while. This is all y'all.
One more time, y'all.
Thank y'all, thank y'all. So y'all sounded fantastic. Y'all said my voice is starting to go. I don't sound like I'm 13 all over again. Cool, guys. All right, we'll keep, keep it going right over here. Okay, real quick, I advertise this on Facebook. Anybody that wants to participate in this is welcome. Would anybody like $25 knocked off of their tonight. All right, now look, it's real simple, and this is the first time I've ever done this, but here's what you got to do to start off with. We'll— I'll get you to do this now, and then I'll pick some winners later. But, uh, text— get your phones out. Half of y'all been on them the whole time anyway. I know you know, right? What, did you lose your phone? All right, I want y'all to text Jaxon, J-A-X-O-N, Text Jaxon, J-A-X-O-N, to 38470. So Jaxon, J-A-X-O-N. Half of y'all are just like staring, they're like, dude, free alcohol sucks. 38470. Text Jaxon to 38470. Anybody get the message? It popped up.
Anybody?
All right, cool.
I'm not hearing anything.
Say what? Yeah, for the fourth time. Yeah, J-A-X-O-N, J-A-X-O-N. Thanks for paying attention. Thanks for paying attention. J-A-X-O-N, J-A-X-O-N. Anyway, y'all text that to the number and then I'll pick a couple numbers from random, get that knocked out.
All right.
Alright, so this is another popular song that we did our own little version of here. This is Kings of Leon, came out with a new record this year, and I can't go anywhere without hearing them play some moment song. I kind of like the song, but we did our own little version of it here, so hope you dig it. Feel free to get up and dance on this one, y'all.
Thank y'all so much.
Thank y'all so much. Hey, is Ally still in the house? Ally Where you at? Is she, is she still here?
Did she leave?
I might find her. Did she leave already? Get up here, let's do hallelujah. Yeah, you do it, I'll just back you up.
I'll just back you up.
So Yeah, just come on up. Let's do it. We're going to do one more, then she's going to come back up. She going to get a drink of water. She's going to drink water. She going, she going to chill out for a little bit.
So we'll do one more. You're one of my favorites.
All right, it's another original song off the first record we did a couple years ago. Uh, this one's called Sad Thank you all.
Thank you all so much.
All right, girl, get back up here. Hey, y'all, one more time for Allie. Wasn't that awesome earlier? Wasn't that awesome?
Hold on.
All right, well, we lost a lot of great musical icons in 2016. We lost a whole lot of great people, and one of them was a great songwriter, Leonard Cohen. So this one's a— this one's is kind of his most famous song due to, uh, due to being featured in the movie Shrek. So me and Allie—
Oh yeah.
Hi.
Oh yeah. Slightly aching, y'all. Give it up!
Ask us how many times we practiced that. Zero.
That's pretty cool.
That's pretty cool. I dig it. Nice. Logan, why are you sitting down? Back to work. Come on, man. Y'all give it up for Henry. He's got blisters on his fingers. He's got blisters on his fingers.
Blisters on his fingers. That's what I'm talking about.
That's, that's experience. That's, that's education right there.
Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
Let me testify today. Can I get an amen? Can I get another amen? Can I get a hallelujah? Can I get another hallelujah? Amen, amen. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, praise the Lord. Everybody scream on 3.
1, 2, 3.
Thank you, thank you.
That's another original song, and we've got that, uh, all that stuff over there on my Finally Lit merchandise table, which I'll be at right after we're done. But, uh, anyway, guys, uh, we got just a couple more here for you. Thank you so much again for coming coming out and spending your New Year's Eve Eve with us tonight. We hope y'all have had a good time. We've had a blast. Thank y'all all for coming out. We got a couple more we're gonna do for you here. So yeah, this next song is one that I wrote way back in the day when I was playing in a band called Led Zeppelin. It's called Fool in the Rain. Hope y'all enjoy it.
