In this instructional video, Aaron Jaxon shares his favorite fast‑tempo bluegrass rhythm guitar pattern. He breaks the pattern down by vocalizing it as “boom, chucka, chucka, chuck, boom, chucka, chucka, chuck,” a mnemonic that helps learners internalize the groove. After explaining the vocalized count, he demonstrates the strumming pattern in real time, applying it to a rapid bluegrass tune called “Blackjack,” counting “1, 2, 3, 4” to illustrate how the pattern fits within a fast tempo setting.

Which I know that feels ridiculous whenever you're saying that out loud, but that will help you to internalize this pattern. So now let's hear how that strumming pattern sounds in the context of a fast bluegrass tune like Blackjack. 1, 2, 3, 4.
