How To Squeeze More Juice Out Of The Day
27 Jul 2016 · 12 min
In this solo episode of the Marketing in Your Car podcast, Russell Brunson shares a behind‑the‑scenes look at his recent marketing activities and distills them into actionable advice. He describes filming a "Funnel Graffiti" free‑plus‑shipping promotion with Mike Dillard and artist Rob at Boise’s Freak Alley, emphasizing the importance of pattern interrupts to capture scarce attention. Russell then pivots to practical tips for boosting webinar show‑up rates, arguing that excitement and passion are the primary drivers of attendance. Throughout the monologue he chronicles his daily workflow, documenting everything on Snapchat and repurposing the clips on YouTube, to illustrate how he compresses a massive amount of work into an eight‑hour day. He stresses disciplined time management, mindset shifts, and relentless focus as the keys to "squeezing more juice" out of each day. The episode closes with calls to action: follow him on Snapchat, watch the Snapchat‑derived videos on Funnel Hacker TV, join the Marketing in Your Car email list, and tune into his nightly Periscope Marketing Quickie Show.

Hey everybody, this is Russell Brunson and welcome to Marketing in Your Car. Welcome to the Marketing in Your Car podcast where you can increase your traffic, conversions, and sales in just 10 minutes a day. And now here's your host, Russell Brunson. Alright everybody, hope you are having a sweet day. I just got up and I'm heading to go film with Mike Dillard. How cool is that? So Mike is launching a new membership site in the marketing world and he wants some to come teach on funnels, so guess who he asked? Anyway, I'm excited. Mike's a good friend and it's gonna be kinda cool to have him come out here and film. So I'm racing over there now. I'm a little bit late, not gonna lie. Well, I might, I'm right on the line. I could be there on time or I could be there definitely not early, but I could be there on time, so that is the plan. Anyway, it's been a little while since I talked to you guys and it's been crazy over here and I'm having so much fun. And anyway, just wanted to reconnect with all of you guys and say hi, first off. But more importantly, what I want to do I wanted to do was, it's been interesting. For a lot of you guys, hopefully you know, you've been watching the new Snapchat stuff I've been doing. So it's been fun, I've been kind of documenting everything we're doing on Snapchat, which is interesting. I always looked at Marketing Your Car kind of as like me documenting things, but usually it was like every 2 or 3 days I would get on and I'd share stuff, but it's more like, hey, in the last little bit, here's some things I'm noticing. It's like taking multiple days and like, okay, here's the number one lesson from that chunk of time, whereas Snapchat's more like I'm documenting everything cool that's happening. I'm either talking about before or after so that people are seeing day by day what's happening. And it's been fun, like yes, or two days ago, we were filming this crazy shoot. So we were up at 3-something in the morning, then went downtown Boise and we rented this, there's this place called Freak Alley, it's this big, graffiti wall, right? Or yeah, graffiti place down in downtown Boise. So we rented a big section of the wall and then we came in at 3 in the morning, we painted over it and then Rob came and painted this amazing mural of like ClickFunnels and funnels and all sorts of stuff and so we did that all morning long and then at night we came back like at 11 or 12 o'clock at night and then we filmed this whole like, this funny thing for, anyway, so we're making this new offer and so the offer's called Funnel Graffiti and it's a free plus shipping offer and I could obviously just be like, oh, here's Funnel Graffiti, it's free plus shipping but But I'm trying to like, again, this whole business, it doesn't matter what market you're in, it's all about like pattern interrupts, right? And so for my job and your job honestly is less about like how are we selling things and more about how are we interrupting people's patterns, right? And so, in fact Vince Palco, if you guys know Vince, he owns adtunes.com, he's the dude that invented like the hand-sketched out video. And he told me one time, he told his guys, he's like, we're not in the hand-sketch doodle business, like we're in the pattern interrupt business. Like we always gotta be pushing the envelope, figuring out new ways to interrupt people's patterns to get their attention. And I think that's so true in all of our businesses, like that's it. So that's why I always bug people like, I need a template to get more, you know, to sell my product. I'm like, okay, I can give you a structure, but it still comes down to like you being creative and like figuring out ways to like grab people's attention. Like attention is the scarcest resource nowadays. Like we've gotta be crazy to grab people's attention. Like I'm giving away a free plus shipping offer. We spent 2 days filming to create the thing, you know, probably spent too much money to create this amazing thing. So that we could get people to buy something that's free from us, right? And it's like, why would you do that, Russell? But it's like, 'cause it's all about attention and then building a brand and building a cult following and getting people excited and engaged in what you're doing, right? And so, you'll see it when it comes out, like it's a big production we did to give away a free thing, but I'm trying to break people's patterns and create something new and exciting and cool and make it fun for people to buy. Okay, a lot of people are, I can't tell you how many times people message me like, hey, I'm only getting 10% show up rate on my webinar, like what do I need to do? And I'm like, Dude, you just need to be more interesting. If only 10% of the people are showing up, it means they don't care about what you're talking about. How can you infuse excitement and energy and passion and all these things to get people to want to actually schedule your webinar and make sure they show up? I can give you little tactics and techniques and tricks to try to increase show up rate, but when all is said and done, it comes down to you and you being exciting enough that they're gonna be inspired enough to not just register and hope that the replay comes through and maybe they'll catch it, but to like, I can't freakin' miss this. This is a big, big, big deal. And it comes down to you being passionate and sharing and I can't stress that enough. So it's been fun from the Snapchat journey because it's like, it's funny, every day at the end of the day I take the, usually it's about 3 to 5 minutes worth of Snapchats and we render them out as a video and then we're posting them on YouTube. So if you missed any of them, you can go to our YouTube channel and see them, which I think is just youtube.com/funnelhackertv. And then click on the playlist button and you can see all the behind the scenes Snapchat stuff. It's behind the scenes of all the stuff we're doing. But the biggest thing I keep getting from people who are watching these is just like, holy crap Russell, you do a lot of things throughout the day. And I'm always like, I guess I do, but I'm working the same amount of hours as you guys. Nobody, we all are given from God the same amount of hours in every day. There's 24 of them, right? And I try to use them really efficiently, but I'm still sleeping for 8 of them. I'm hanging out with my wife and kids for 8 of them. So I got 8 hours to go and try to take over the world. The same amount that all of us have, right? We're all competing with the same actual time resources. And so we're like, I don't have time. Seriously? So it's been fun showing behind the scenes what we're doing. People are like, holy crap, Russell, in one day you guys, we had one day the other day where during that day I think we launched two funnels in two different businesses. We got sample product in for our supplement. We did a coaching call. I did 30 minutes of Voxer with our 25K group. It was just like all these things jammed into the same 8-hour day. I'm spending all 8 hours working. I'm not, I don't know what people do all day to be honest, but I'm not goofing off. I'm getting stuff done every minute of those days and that's the only big difference. So I like the Snapchat stuff 'cause it's showing people like boom, boom, here, how I'm jamming everything in and what we're doing and how I'm shifting focus and where we're focusing energy. So anyway, I hope that if you're not following me on Snapchat, you do just so you can start seeing behind the scenes and you'll get a lot of the marketing, marketing cards are nice, I can go deep deeper on a topic, right? I mean, I got 10 seconds to Snapchat, but Snapchat, you're able to see behind the scenes and what we're compressing into a day. And I think if nothing else, I think that's a value for everyone to see. And just because I honestly think like, and I don't wanna be harsh or mean or whatever, but like when I'm working close with people and they're not having success, like the biggest thing is they're not getting much out of their days. Like we've had some people who have been working on the perfect webinar for 8, 9, 10 months and they still haven't launched it. I'm like, are you kidding me? Like, what are you doing all day? Like, I gave you the script, I gave you the PowerPoint, like you have it all. All you gotta do is fill in your stories. Like, it's really, it really should not be that, you know, it's like I think that you're dinking around all day. Like, I don't know what it is. Like, we just need to get more out of the day. Like, you need to wake up and freaking grab today by the head and just, you know, like if we're wrestling, we're freaking throwing it around 'cause we own it, right? It's not the other way around where we're just like, I don't know, like I think it's when we start shifting our mindset and our thoughts from like, oh, I should do this today, oh, I should do this, like no, I freaking must do this today. I don't get to go home and sleep or watch TV or go to lunch unless this crap is done. It's shifting our mindset to that and then just getting it done, right? And I understand that there's things that come up, but I promise you guys, there's not many people in the world that have more distractions than me, alright? I've got a beautiful wife, I've got 5 kids, I've got a company with 40 or 50 employees, all of whom are not just boring employees sitting there. Everyone on our team is like, highly passionate and with passion and excitement comes like needs, right? And I'm a very needy, like all of us, right? Like the more, I feel like the higher level you get, the more you need like reinforcement of your skills and things. I've got people on our teams that take time, like I've got multiple businesses, we got funnels creating, we got, you know, like there's a lot happening, it's just, And so I understand people like, "Oh, I don't have the time," or "There's too many things pulling me away." I understand that more than most people understand. The difference is just like, I don't know. I don't know. So my biggest message for today is first off, go either follow me on Snapchat, or Snapchat's too teenage, high school embarrassing for you, which I understand that. Then go to YouTube and watch the replays of some of them. At the end of the day what we're compressing into a day. I think most people will see that we, honestly, there's more stuff happening in a day in my world than most people get done in a week or a year, or excuse me, a week or a month sometimes. It's learning how do I compress time, how do I speed things up, how do I become more efficient so I can get more done during the day? I'm not a rocket scientist, you guys. I am not a smart person. I sucked at school. I barely graduated. It was hard. Like going through college and school and like those things are way harder than like, hey, let's set a structure for our day. Hey, let's set some really big goals. Hey, let's not just goof off on Facebook all day. Let's freaking do things. Like let's think through them and figure out like why do we need to do this? And then if it makes sense, then run with it. If it doesn't, then like delete it, ignore it. Like pull out of your strategy and only do things that are serving and growing your core strategy, like your core focus. I think if you shift your focus to that, man, you'll be amazed what you can get done during an average day. Anyway, I don't mean to say that to try to put myself on a pedestal at all. I'm hoping to use this as a tool to motivate you guys and show you what actually is possible. Again, like I said, you've got the same 8 hours that I do. I'm not working— well, some days I am. One day we work crazy hours. For the most part, I'm working 9 to 5. I'm working the same hours that everybody else is working. I'm just squeezing a lot more juice out of the day and I hope that watching the day-by-day Snapchats will show you how to squeeze more juice out of it as well. And that's it, you guys. Anyway, I am almost to our filming location to go hang out with Dillard and hopefully we'll create some magic. Hey, if you wanna see what we're doing behind the scenes, go check out Snapchat. That's where I'm at and we are making some magic. Alright guys, appreciate y'all and I'll talk to you soon. Hey everyone, this is Russell Brunson again.
