Look What My Entrepreneurial ADD Is Forcing Me To Do…

In this solo episode of the Marketing Quickies podcast, Russell Brunson opens with a rapid recap of his recent whirlwind travel schedule, highlighting speaking engagements in New Zealand, Australia, Phoenix, Utah, Denver, and a forthcoming trip to London. He shares concrete sales figures from recent events—approximately $200,000 from a GKIC event in Denver and $24,000 from a smaller Phoenix gathering—totaling roughly $225,000 in a single week. Brunson then shifts to a productivity discussion, championing a triple‑monitor workstation as a proven way to boost output, citing personal experience and a referenced study that links larger desktop space to higher efficiency. The core of the episode is a candid exploration of his “entrepreneurial ADD”: a 12‑year cycle of hyper‑focusing on a new idea, generating revenue, then becoming bored and launching dozens of side projects, which dilutes attention and stalls growth. He describes how he repeatedly narrows back to a single core product—currently ClickFunnels—allowing it to scale dramatically, while other ventures (a supplement line, a real‑estate/Airbnb concept) linger as tempting distractions. Brunson frames this pattern as both a curse and a super‑power, offering advice to listeners: embrace the multitasking impulse, but channel it into multiple growth levers for one primary business, then deliberately refocus when that business gains momentum. He ends with a personal commitment to tackle his to‑do list, acknowledging the ongoing tension between new ideas and sustained focus.
Hey everyone, this is Russell Brunson and welcome to Marketing in Your Car or Quickies in Your Car, Marketing Quickies. Still have an identity crisis, I'll figure this out soon.

Hey everybody, hope everyone is doing amazing today. So I just got back from most of my whirlwind trips around the world. I think I I told you guys 2 weeks ago I was New Zealand, Australia, Phoenix, all in 7 days, and then from there I had a week home, and then I went to Utah where my dad got put in the Utah Wrestling Hall of Fame, and then went to Denver, spoke at the GKIC event, and we closed $200,000 in sales, which is always exciting and fun, and then went to Armand Morin's event out in Phoenix again, and the group's a lot smaller, and I think I did about $24,000 in sales, something like that, so not too bad, $225,000 or so in sales sales on the week, which was fun. Now I'm back and I've got a week to be with my family and kids and then we are packing up and flying to London to go have some fun. So it's pretty cool. And right now I'm in the office just to go get some stuff done. The kids are all at school and it is a rainy, rainy day. And I'm just excited to go and actually sit behind a computer with 3 monitors and work. I don't know about you, but I can't stand working on a laptop. I can't get stuff done. The screen's so tiny. I'm addicted to having 3 huge monitors. And so, in fact, I remember the very first time I went and met at Sheffrin, I went to his office and he had 3 of the 30-inch Mac monitors and I was like, "Dude, it feels like you're in a spaceship." And he said that there was some study that proved that the more desktop space you have, the more productive you are and so of course I had to, you know, because the studies proved that that's how it works, I had to go get some. Anyway, I would never go back. I think one of the best things you can do to increase your productivity is buy more monitors. So I've given you all permission to get 3, not 1, not 2, 3 30-inch monitors. So you can get more stuff done and you'll love it. And if you don't wanna get 3, at least get 2. You just switch from 1 to 2, it'll change your world dramatically. And then when you go to 3, you're just like, I don't even know how people work on laptops. Like, I honestly can't stand it. So I haven't got hardly anything done in the last 2 or 3 weeks because of that, but today I'm gonna go get some stuff done. I got a huge to-do list, I'm gonna pound through it all, and I'm really excited actually. I know it's sad, most people are like, you get home from a long trip, you wanna take the day off, but I feel like I've been taking too many days off. I wanna go and get some stuff done and that way I can relax and have some fun when we're in the UK where I'm taking a legitimate week off. I don't even have, well I have my laptop but that's about it. So I'm excited. So I have a question for you guys. If it's just me or if all you guys are this way. I'm guessing you guys are like me. You probably all have horrible ADD. So for the last, well let me walk back my, the last 12 years of my business, this is how my process has been, right? I get an idea and I focus on it and we make a whole bunch of money and as soon as it makes a bunch of money, I get bored and then I go and I want to launch like 10 things and I launch like 10 things and then 1 or 2 of those 10 things will make money but then everything else suffers because of it and we never increase our income from it. And then it gets worse and worse and worse and I'm juggling a million things all at once and then I finally decide to cut everything except for the one thing that's making me the most money. I focus on that and it starts growing and we make tons of money, everything's awesome again and I get bored and then I'm like, "Okay, I'm going to launch like 20 new things." And I launch like 20 new things and 1 or 2 of them actually make any money but everything else drops down and then we start losing money and then it starts spiraling down and I get stressed out, so then I cut everything again, I focus on one thing and it grows. Have you guys done that before? So that's been my pattern for 12 years now. And it drives me crazy, but that's just how my brain works. For example, right now, a year and a half ago, we started cutting everything. We cut our supplement, we cut our, everything outside of my coaching program, we cut so we could focus on ClickFunnels. And guess what happened? ClickFunnels grew and it's growing and it's just doing amazing now. And it's so hard now because the more successful it is, and the more hands-off, the more automated it is, the more I want to do more things and it's just hard. Like I have a supplement line I'm designing. I have this really cool real estate thing that I think is like the greatest idea of all time. Real estate slash Airbnb thing that I want to do. And then I got these, there's all these things I want to do now and it's stressing me out because I know that if I do, everything else will collapse. And so I keep trying to like push them off but they just keep nagging at me and like they're these little ideas that are really good ideas. Like everyone in and of themselves, if we launch this year, do between $3 and $5 million. Like there's no doubt in my mind. But at what cost? And so I don't know what the answer is, you guys. This is my therapy session for the day 'cause I have so much stuff I wanna do and I know that if I do, then ClickFunnels will, you know, not that it's gonna struggle, but my eye will be taken off that ball and I gotta focus my eye on that ball 'cause I owe it to my partners, my team, my friends, and to all of you guys who love ClickFunnels. So anywho, there's my conundrum. I'm sure you guys deal with that as well. And so I'm trying to figure out a happy medium between the two. So I don't know what the answer is yet. I'm sure I'll find it eventually, but I just wanted to let you know I'm gonna let you guys inside my brain for a little bit. I'm guessing that some of you guys are the same way. So based on this, I would tell you guys this. I'm guessing that most of you, if you're an entrepreneur, you have the same issue. Entrepreneurs are really bad at focusing on one thing. In fact, I remember in school I used to always struggle. Teachers would talk and I'm just like, I can't even pay attention to what they're saying. I learned that if I would do multiple things, like tap my pencil and move my fingers and flip a coin in my hand while the teacher was talking, somehow magically I could pay attention. But I couldn't just be sitting there quietly with my arms folded like they want you to do. I can't do that. And most entrepreneurs can't. In fact, that's the trick as an entrepreneur is like, if you're trying to focus and you can't, like grab something in your hand, start tinkering, start moving, start drawing. Like you have to be doing 2 or 3 things for you to be able to focus on one. It's weird. It's our superpower though, right? And so I'm guessing that most of you guys who are entrepreneurs who are listening to this are probably the same way, right? And you get excited and so you start focusing on a business that starts growing and then you wanna start tinkering all over the place. And so what I would say, what I would coach Russell through if I was coaching me, is just focus because on one thing and find something you're passionate enough about that you can create new front ends and new things to drive all traffic and leads into that one thing. That's how for the last 12 months I've been able to focus on ClickFunnels. It's 'cause it wasn't just ClickFunnels, it was what other things can I create to bring people into ClickFunnels? And I was able to use my ADD and my ADD superpower to focus it on and towards that. And so just something to kinda help you guys to know that you're not alone. I do the same thing. Even like, you would think after 12 years of this I'd be like, oh, I can just focus. No, I can't. It's in our DNA. It's how our brains are wired up. And it's not a bad thing. It's a good thing. It's why we're all crazy successful because of that. It's just learning to harness that which can be really, really hard. So if you're in that phase right now, I would say find something to focus on because that's what you focus on will grow. And then use your ADD in figuring out multiple ways to make that thing grow and that becomes awesome. The only question I don't know how to answer to is after you've done that and it's growing from multiple facets, then what? Do you launch your supplement line? Do you just not? Anyway, these are the voices in my head yelling at me. All right, I appreciate you guys. I hope you don't think I'm that weird. I hope you guys feel the same way because it's hard. It's really tough. Anyway, I'm going to go in there and focus today on the things I need to do and then kind of slowly push forward some of those things that I probably shouldn't be doing. But keep me engaged and keep me excited and keep me waking up in the morning. So that's what we gotta do. Anyway, appreciate all you guys. Thanks for listening to my rants, my rambles. And I hope you get some value out of this. And with that said, I'm gonna check off and I'll talk to you guys all again very, very soon. Thanks everybody, we'll talk soon.
