Russell Brunson built a Trello system that moves funnel ideas through stages from capture to launch, letting his team ship eight funnels in four days. He hired Jimmy to handle parts he dislikes and works with designer Rob on branding. He also uses Periscope and Facebook Mentions together to drive traffic to new funnels.
Hey everybody, good morning! This is Russell Brunson and welcome to Marketing in Your Car.

What's up, what's up everybody? I hope you guys are having an awesome time today. I was at the office late last night. I'm pulling a lot of late-nighters lately. I got some magic stuff happening. Anyway, building rolling out some really cool things inside of ClickFunnels and was trying to get it all done before I head on my worldwide sprint over the next 30 days and so trying to get some stuff done last night and now I'm up and I'm heading to the office and just excited about some cool things. We got 5 new funnels that should be rolling live today, which means this week we have rolled out I think 8 funnels this week so far, which is exciting. So some of you guys are thinking, Russell, how in the world are you able to roll out 8 funnels in a week? So a couple things, first off, I have a lot of stuff that's like, we did in the past that's still amazing that I wanna sell, but we just haven't because I haven't just finished the process. I'm sure a lot of you guys get this way. We have a bunch of projects and they all get like 75% done and then they never all get all the way done, right? So I'm guilty of that. I hate to admit that, but I have that problem. My entrepreneurial ADD just slows things down to a screeching halt sometimes. So with that, I am trying to always focus, but then get a process to still get these things done, 'cause there's value in them and I don't wanna think a lot through them, so I'm trying to get things placed out there and stuff like that. So that's been kind of my, my process and so over the last 2 weeks or so I've been trying to figure out how do I systemize this so that we can move things through this funnel fast, right? I did a Funnel Hacker TV episode with Trey Lewellen and he was talking about his team, they try to launch a funnel a week and I'm like sweet, we need to be doing at least a funnel a week if not more than that, like different front end funnels to get people into your programs, right? And so, but I was like, but if I do that it's me building a funnel a week and I'm like God, it's a lot, right? And so I started figuring out how do I create create systems to make this possible. And so, first thing I did, I started looking at the funnel process, like what part do I like the best? And there's one piece that I love that gets me fired up that I just wanna spend all day on. And then there's like 8 out of 10 pieces that I don't love, that I don't wanna be doing. And so, my first kind of thought was like, I need to hire a funnel assistant. And someone who knows ClickFunnels and does funnels and who can do things that I don't like to do and can finish projects. I can be a starter and he can be a finisher on things. And so I hired my first funnel assistant and he came, He flew out to Boise the last 3 days and we sat next to each other and it was awesome. We were able to work super fast. I got things to the point that I like to get them to and I can hand them off to him and he was able to run through and finalize them, which was awesome. So that was really, really super cool. Next thing was actually building out a process and so I use a project manager software called Trello and so I actually did a Periscope the other day on it. I think I called it, if you go to blog.dotcomsecrets.com you can go look at all the archives of our Periscopes, but the Periscope was called I call it something like my project management funnel. And so it kinda showed what I built out in, where it's basically like a funnel where first step's like the idea phase. I drop all my crazy ideas there and they can just live there, right? So they don't have to progress. I can just put 'em there so they're out of my mind and they're somewhere. Excuse me. So that's step number 1. Then when I'm ready to start moving forward an idea, then I move it from project, from the idea block over to the branding. I got this guy named Rob who's the best designer I've ever seen. He does the whole branding, logo packs, design, all that kind of stuff, which I love. So he gets that finished. Then from there it bumps over to the next, the next part of the funnel, which is what I like to do, is taking the logo and building out the initial page structure, design, layout, etc. So I go build out the initial structure, and when I'm done, then in each funnel there's like a dozen other pages you have to do that I hate doing those parts. Then I move it over and Jimmy grabs it, he's my funnel assistant, he runs the next piece. Then from there it gets moved over to somebody who does the mobile optimization, then from there it goes over to somebody who does testing, and then it goes live. So it's this really cool process now. And so this week was all about systemizing and testing and just beating on it. So we've been doing that and like running people through this. We ran 8 funnels through in like 4 days. And it's working and it's exciting and now I've got a framework that I can move very, very quickly on. So that's really exciting and then in the next phase I'm gonna start building out, hopefully while on my trips, is the traffic. So now the funnel's done, now what happens to it? So now it all goes into a new Trello board, a new funnel, and this is our traffic funnel. And here's the process and here's what we gotta do and here's all the pieces to execute on that, start driving traffic into the front of these funnels. 'Cause building funnels is cool, But if no one's coming to it or seeing it, then it sucks, right? There's no purpose. So we're trying to do kind of both sides of that. So that'll be my next big project. But it's kind of fun, it's exciting. So I wanted to kind of just let you guys know in behind the scenes of what I'm doing and how I'm doing it and some of the reasoning. And hopefully that kind of helps you guys a little bit. 'Cause that's kind of the process that I'm doing and it's working, so far it's working really, really good. It's funny, people always say, Russell, how do you get so much stuff done? And now I'm thinking like, man, you guys haven't seen anything yet. Now imagine when I've got this process in place what we'll be able to get done. It's gonna be exciting and inspiring and cool. So that is kinda what's happening. Also wanna give you guys an update on Periscope. For those who haven't been following, you should go follow my Periscope show. If you just go to the blog, blog, oh crap, I just killed the car. Darn stick shift, I'm at a green arrow and I just killed the car. I'm sure the people behind me are so mad like, why is this dude talking on his phone and then kills his car? Now we're all gonna miss the show. Oh good, the guy made the light. I thought I was gonna make him miss the light. That would've made me feel like a real jerk. Alright, okay, back off my shiny object. Okay, so if you go to blog.dotcomsecrets.com and see any of our Periscopes, I think there's info on how to subscribe. But you should be getting on those for a couple reasons. One is they're fun. Number two, I'm learning so much in the process and you guys are kind of seeing it. I'm seeing how to engage an audience. I'm figuring out what topics, what headlines get people to respond, get them to show up, which ones don't. I'm finding out which thoughts and ideas are share-worthy, where people are actually sharing editing the videos afterwards, like, it's been fascinating all the cool stuff I'm learning from it. So one thing we started doing is, so Facebook's got a platform that's kinda like Periscope called Mentions, and I know there's another one called Blab, we haven't started into Blab yet, but we just started with Mentions. So Mentions you have to have I think 30,000 followers, and then you can apply to get a verified account where now you're an official celebrity. So I got that done, so now I'm an official celebrity, they gave me a Mentions thing. So now when I do my Periscope I've got two phones, I got my Mentions phone and my Periscope phone, and I kinda have them play with each other and talk to each other, and it's kinda fun. But what's interesting is like I get way more engagement live on Periscope. More people are engaging, talking, commenting, all that kind of stuff. But when it ends, it kind of just ends there. It doesn't move forward. Whereas the mentions one, I get way less engagement live, but then when it's done, it posts on your Facebook page, and from there, even the ones we haven't made, most of them like now we've been boosting them. So spending $10 or $15 to kind of push them out there.. But a lot of them we didn't and like, and if my message is right on, man, people are sharing them. I think last week I had like 40 shares, which I've never had somebody share anything of mine on Facebook, which was awesome. So people are sharing it, they're liking it, they're commenting, and it's like, it's causing tons of engagement. So the mention side on that is like, it's the long tail of it's way, way better. So like the blend of those two has been really, really, really cool, really exciting. So anywho, just some updates on what's happening. Got to the office, I'm gonna go in and have some fun today, appreciate you guys. Have an amazing day, get some work done, and we'll talk to you soon.
